This gives an airy, satiny finish after application. It’s also oil-free, which keeps makeup looking fresh all day on greasier skin types.
#2: Illamasqua Radiance Veil, $69
A primer and illuminator rolled into one, this gives a radiant, slightly shimmery finish when applied all over. It also gives skin a subtle bronze tinge – perfect for faking that healthy, post-exercise glow. If you have oily skin, dab this only on the cheekbones and nose bridge – it’ll enhance your features without you looking too shiny.
#3: IDS Diamond Dust Perfector, $90
Unlike the usual primers, this is meant to be used over foundation (simply pat it on) for a soft-focus effect. It has luminescent micro powders to reflect and diffuse light, so skin appears smoother and brighter, even under unflattering lighting.
#4: Elizabeth Arden Flawless Start Instant Perfecting Primer, $60
While this translucent primer doesn’t hide blemishes well, it definitely minimises the appearance of pores and fine lines. It also smooths skin, and has a mattifying and silky finish; foundation glides on like a dream after.
