These luxe hair masks aren’t just one-off indulgences – they’re the best (read: most effective) ones to incorporate in your daily haircare routine, especially if you have dry and frizzy locks. By Isabel Ong.
#1: Balmain Paris Hair Couture Repair Mask, US$44 (S$62), www.net-a-porter.com
With organic argan oil to hydrate dry locks, leave this rich cream mask on damp hair after shampooing and rinse off after five minutes. The result: Silky smooth strands free of messy, tangled ends.
#2: Moroccanoil Smoothing Mask, $72, Kimrobinson Studio (#02-12 Ngee Ann City)
According to the brand’s creative design team educator and hairstylist Violet Sainsbury, this contains “hydrolysed vegetable protein and argan butter to coat porous strands and prevent split ends”. Use this alongside its Treatment Oil for best results.
#3: Shu Uemura Art of Hair Ultimate Remedy Mask, $89
Targeted for damaged hair, the cream mask has lotus extract and a ceramide technology that strengthens hair fibres. Use it weekly on fine hair, or in place of your conditioner for normal to thick hair.
This is one product you’ll love pampering your locks with. The brand’s signature complex – watermelon, lychee and edelweiss flower extract – protects hair from environmental stressors. White tea leaf, jasmine and baobab oils also help to soften and smooth.
#5: Kerastase Chronologiste Creme de Regeneration, $69
This comes chock full of ingredients that ensure you have healthy locks. Abyssine (a scalp-regenerating molecule) boosts hair fibres, while ceramides and vitamins A and E provide anti-oxidant and UV protection for hair.
