8 Anti-Wrinkle Serums To Help Get Rid Of Fine Lines
#1: Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging Intensive Repair Daily Serum, $411
image

This contains idebenone, a powerful antioxidant, as well as the molecule AFC to help support the skin’s natural repair process, protect against free radicals, soothe skin and reduce signs of ageing caused by chronic inflammation. It has optical diffusers and silicone to immediately soften the appearance of fine lines, while a blend of retinyl, silicon derivatives and peptides boosts skin’s own natural collagen to reduce the look of wrinkles.

#2: La Prairie Anti-Aging Rapid Response Booster, $450

The serum not only has encapsulated a cocktail of anti-ageing ingredients to help hydrate and energise more mature skin cells, it also has a targeting peptide (made of amino acids) contained in the capsules that encourages a more precise delivery of active ingredients to collagen-supporting skin cells. Think of it like a GPS for the capsules, leading the cars filled with skin-loving ingredients to the exact skin cells that need them. Without having to take the long route or meeting unnecessary delays, these targeting peptides are said to help the anti-wrinkle serum work faster – results supposedly can be seen in just two weeks, instead of the usual four.

#3: Yves Saint Laurent Beaute Forever Youth Liberator Serum, $209
image

This revamped serum contains the complex GlycanactifTM, which is said to stimulate the growth of the three missing glycans (complex sugars that act like antennae to transmit messages from one cell to the next so they communicate, and thus work better) under wrinkles, because these cause skin to lose its firmness and elasticity. By doing so, the serum helps to fill out fine lines so they are less visible.

#4: StriVectin-AR Advanced Retinol Concentrated Serum, $190, Escentials

This helps target major signs of ageing while limiting retinol-related sensitivity. It has a lightweight, fast-absorbing formula that helps improve cell turnover to improve skin firmness and elasticity, while diminishing the look of lines and wrinkles. It is said to leave the complexion significantly more refined with a smoother, more youthful looking appearance.

#5: Sulwhasoo TimeTreasure Renovating Serum EX, $408

This has a De-Ageing Active, made with extracts from the needles of the Korean red pine tree, that reportedly prevents the formation of lipofuscin (a waste product made up of fat and protein molecules that is produced with skin cells and are unable to cope with oxidative stress). It removes lipofuscin from cells to prevent the formation of wrinkles, dark spots and dullness.

#6: Verso 4 Super Facial Serum, $225, Escentials

Recommended to be used twice daily, this healing and skin-strengthening serum has a high dose of Retinol 8 complex to aid skin’s natural production of collagen and help reverse the signs of ageing. It not only reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but also leaves the complexion brighter and smoother.

#7: Shiseido Revital WrinkleLift AA, $158
image

This has pure retinol to boost resilience and elasticity, while amino acid complex plumps skin from within. The creamy essence can be used on targeted areas and not only help reduce the groves in skin caused by wrinkles, but also smooths and irons out fine lines.

#8: Eucerin Volume-Filler Concentrate, $79
image

This ultra-light serum has the chemical compound magnolol to improve the number and size of volume-boosting cells; oligo peptides extracted from the fruit and seed of the Anise plant to stimulate the collagen network responsible for a firmer skin structure; as well as hyaluronic acid to intensively moisturise skin and reduce visible wrinkles.
