If lounging on a beach towel soaking up Vitamin D and getting honeyed skin is not on the cards, these matte and shimmery bronzers will help you ace that post-holiday glow for fair, medium and deep skin tones – no suntanning necessary.
If shimmery and more warm-toned bronzers are what you’re looking for, there are few more deserving of a spot on your vanity than these beauties. The first two shades in this range are for light and medium skin-tones while the third shade boasts a deeper but more red-based tone.
This bronzer has a lighter and darker half, with the lighter half giving off more of a shimmer. You can customise your shade by mixing the two or use them individually, though the darker shade might be too light if you have medium-to-deep skin. That said, the shimmer is absolutely gorgeous and I love that the bronzer has more neutral and versatile undertones.
Liquid bronzers are making more of an appearance on the aisles these days, and they’re a great way to get a more even and naturally bronzed effect, especially if you’re mixing it into some tinted moisturiser or aiming for a very lightweight application. This liquid version of Nars’ best-selling Laguna bronzer is a very welcome new addition indeed.
The finely-milled formula of this bronzer is said to be an “illuminating matte” that doesn’t contain shimmer but still makes you look bronzed and radiant. It’s fairly affordable and comes in pretty cute packaging that makes me wish I was on a private island sipping on pina coladas. Available in two shades exclusively at the Urban Decay flagship store in Vivocity.
In the realm of gorgeous packaging and quality beauty products, Hourglass ticks all my boxes. With the incredible success of its ambient lighting powders, bronzers were a no-brainer. There are two shades in this range, a Luminous and a Radiant bronzer. The former is definitely more suited to lighter skin tones, while the latter has a much warmer undertone and looks good on medium or deeper skin tones.
Benefit’s Hoola bronzer has been a cult classic for years, with the shade being so universal and perfectly neutral it can even be used for light contouring. This year, Benefit launched Dew the Hoola, a liquid version of the original that makes for a much sheerer application. I’ll admit to this being barely visible on my medium skin tone, but I found that I can still use it to bring a more all-rounded glow to my rather sallow and dull skin.
The pan of this bronzer has such a gorgeous imprint, you wouldn;t want to ruin it. Each strip or section has a slightly different shade to it at first glance. When blended together with a brush, the overall shade is a slightly pinkish bronze with plenty of shimmery gold flecks in it, making it one of the more sparkly bronzers of the bunch.
One of my favourite things about many of Make Up Store’s multi-shade powders is that you get a fun design, while also having the option to mix the shades as you see fit. This one has a mix of shimmery gold, brown and the addition of some pink hues. It’s trickier to be super selective about the precise shade you want unless you use your fingertips, but it sure is fun.
