We share why Dr Rachel Ho of La Clinic should be your go-to expert for minimally-invasive beauty treatments.

Practising a robust skincare routine and being more discerning in consuming new skincare products and strong actives may be the best way to maintain a plump, supple and healthy complexion.

But there are times – think a severe acne outbreak or allergic reaction – when topical skincare and self-restraint may not be enough. Enter an aesthetic clinic and doctor to the rescue.

Although it is important to continuously fine-tune our skincare regime, it is always advisable to speak to a professional for more dire skin woes such as sagging skin and pitted acne scars or if you are after a more long-lasting lift or V-shaped complexion.

Opened in 2002, La Clinic positions itself as a one-stop healthcare and aesthetic dermatology centre.

With a multitude of options of aesthetic clinics to choose from here, finding one that checks all your boxes can be a challenge in itself. But if you are on the lookout for one that offers a more holistic approach to wellness and beauty, with a specialty in injectables, you might want to get acquainted with Dr Rachel Ho of La Clinic.

Ahead, we list down some reasons why La Clinic and Dr Ho should be in your little black book of beauty.

La Clinic is located at #08-01/02 Paragon Medical Centre, tel: 6235-4040. Visit www.laclinic.com.sg for more

THEY ARE BIG ON HOLISTIC BEAUTY

Located in Paragon Medical Tower in the heart of Orchard Road, La Clinic prides itself as a healthcare and aesthetic dermatology centre, offering a myriad of skin, body and health management treatments that can tackle various chronic diseases. For instance, the clinic can tailor an age management program that focuses on disease preventions for ailments such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

In the area of aesthetic treatments, injectables ranging from Threadlift to Profhilo to Rejuran Healer are among the best-known treatments it offers. In fact, the clinic is among the few practices in Singapore to offer all three types of threads from two leading international brands: Silhouette Soft from USA and Ultra V from South Korea.

THIS AESTHETIC EXPERT IS A PRO AT MINIMALLY INVASIVE TREATMENTS AND GENEROUS WITH HER KNOWLEDGE

With 10 years of experience in facial reconstruction and plastic surgery, the otolaryngology-trained Dr Ho joined La Clinic after residencies in public hospitals in Singapore. At the clinic, she holds the position of Lead Aesthetic Doctor with a special interest in minimally invasive treatments for anti-ageing and enhancements of facial aesthetics.

Besides consulting for brands like Dove and Uniqlo Singapore (the brand turned to her as an expert for their UV-protective apparel line), Dr Ho is a voracious blogger. She shares her insider knowledge about skincare and beauty regularly on her blog, delving on topics like how to prevent sunscreen from piling and why caffeine can be beneficial to skin.

La Clinic
THEY HAVE A NOSE THREADLIFT THAT CAN LAST FOR A LONGER TIME
image

Known as Hiko Nose Threadlift, this treatment uses threads that include cogs instead of the usual smooth polydioxanone (PDO) threads. When these nose threads are injected under the skin, they help to lift the nose bridge and tip for a more defined, higher-looking nose structure. The results are said to be immediate without any downtime.

While the effect is not permanent (read: the nose threads will dissolve after six to nine months), the collagen fibres formed during the process prolongs the results for one to one and a half years. This happens because the nose threads help to stimulate collagen production along the threads, resulting in a biochemical lifting effect long after the threads have dissolved.

To ensure the treatment is tailored to each individual needs, the procedure at La Clinic always begins with a one-on-one consultation with the doctor, allowing each patient to achieve their desired results. And yes, local anaesthesia is administered to ensure minimal pain.

YOU CAN FIND AN INJECTABLE FOR MOST SKIN CONDITIONS HERE

The clinic has a variety of different injectable treatments including Profhilo and Rejuran Healer.

If you have always wanted to achieve a smooth, dewy complexion (think the Korean glass skin trend), the Profhilo treatment might be suitable for you. The procedure involves injecting both high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acids that are bind together by thermal cross-linking processes.

The injection occurs on five key aesthetic points per side of the face, which are situated far from the major nerves and blood vessels to allow maximum diffusion of the hyaluronic acid. This would then stimulate the production of four types of collagen, proteins and strengthen skin stem cells. Complexions are thus not only plumper, smoother and more hydrated, but a lifted effect is also noticeable.

Rejuran Healer, on the other hand, is ideal for those who are keen on addressing signs of ageing like fine lines, as well as for those who wish to repair damaged complexions like acne scars and rough skin textures for example. The injectable is made up of many small fragments of injectable polynucleotides (PN), which are extracted from Salmon DNA which is known to have high biocompatibility with human skin. This helps to regenerate, restore and repair complexions by improving skin elasticity, scarring and hydration levels.

La Clinic
THE FACIAL AND BODY TREATMENTS ARE JUST AS GOOD

Besides its range of injectable procedures, the clinic also offers other treatments such as lasers, which help to correct scarring and pigmentation. Chemical peels are also included in the extensive menu, which aim to gently remove dead skin cells to improve skin tone, texture and lighten pigmentation.

Meanwhile, body treatments include those that eliminate back acne using peels and lasers for a more personalised experience suited for each individual’s concern.
