Truth be told, I have had back acne for years now. It does take a toll on my self-confidence as I constantly have to think twice when choosing what to wear. Over the years, I have tried and tested many products (I even tried a few treatments) in hopes to reduce the redness and sudden breakouts on my back. After trying out a slew of products, here are the ones that work best.
This body soap contains a slew of skin-loving ingredients such as tea tree oil, avocado oil, macadamia nut oil and shea butter. Tea tree oil treats acne and speeds up the healing of blemishes and pimples while the rest of the ingredients help to moisturise skin, as well as control sebum production.
While this luxe treatment is meant for your face, I’ve to admit it worked wonders for my back. It has a soothing formula, which reduces inflammation, stimulates skin renewal and also helps to prevent any breakouts from occurring even before they surface.
The natural ingredients used in this body soap deeply cleanses skin to effectively remove dirt and other impurities. It contains clarifying charcoal, which absorbs and removes excess oil and dirt while refreshing and moisturising skin.
This is formulated with BHA (beta hydroxy acids) to penetrate into the deeper layers of your skin to remove dirt, oil, blackheads and whiteheads. It dissolves the blockages that cause pimples and has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. Bonus: it also speeds up the healing process of acne and scars.
This foam cleanser eliminates excess oil and shine without stripping away skin’s moisture to lessen the likelihood of breakouts. And yes, at times when my back acne is at its worst, I do use a cleanser instead of a soap to thoroughly clean my back.
Another facial product, but the lightweight moisturiser is made with meadowsweet extract to help control oil and shine as well as vitamins C and E, and green tea extract, which are powerful antioxidants that defend against harmful particles to prevent back breakouts.
A gentle, medicated formula that exfoliates to clear dead surface skin cells, while reducing excess oil that can lead to breakouts. It also contains oil-absorbing powders to reduce shin and unclogs pores.
