Every month is an exciting month in the beauty world, with plenty of new launches to rifle through and new holy grail products to be discovered. Here are some exciting skincare launches for both dry and oily skin types, from masks to serums and even makeup removers. So find some room in your budget this month and get browsing through our favourite new beauty launches you won’t want to miss out on.
Two of our favourite sleeping masks have had their own makeovers this month! If you’re a huge fan of the original berry scented Lip Sleeping Mask ($27), get ready for three brand new scents. Grapefruit, Apple Lime, and Vanilla lip sleeping masks have been introduced to the range, and the brand has also released a limited-edition Water Sleeping Mask in Lavender ($42).
The Lavender mask will launch at Laneige Beauty Road with Water Sleeping Mask roadshow event from 18 to 24 May, after which it will be available at all boutiques and counters.
Laneige has also launched a new Water Glow line this month that’s dedicated to making your skin look brighter and clearer, almost translucent. The trick? Water-based skincare technology that focuses on reflecting the blue light in our skin. In the same way large clear bodies of water tend to look blue, well hydrated skin also reflects more blue light.
The Water Glow range includes Base Correctors ($59) available in rosy pink, light purple and a light green depending on your skin’s needs. There is also a new Water Glow Gel Foundation ($59) that comprises 74 percent stabilised moisture to really hydrate your skin.
If you’re looking for something lightweight, brightening and dewy, Make Up For Ever has just joined the cushion revolution with this new compact. It’s also called the 3-in-1 Selfie Cushion, and that’s because it’s got all the filters you need to look your best in a photo. The lightweight cushion formula brightens, hydrates, and protects the skin from UV damage and dark spots. You get a compact and two refills for $64, with refills coming in at a fairly affordable $32.
The foundation has a rosy pink filter for radiance and a brightening filter to illuminate skin, as well as a moderate level of UV protection with SPF35. Coverage is a your-skin-but-better light to medium, with a natural dewy finish, and the cushion comes in five shades.
This new multi-masking series from Skin Inc comprises three different types of sheet masks that are separately packaged for the top and bottom halves of your face. The masks are made of a unique hydrogel infused with various luxurious metals like gold and platinum for a number of skincare benefits, and they look just as flashy as they sound, making them selfie-perfect as well.

Urban Decay’s summer makeup line is a collection inspired by the works of Jean-Michel Basquiat, and we daresay this is the brand’s most exciting artist collaboration to date. Each of the palettes in the collection can even be hung on your wall as art pieces when you’re not using them as makeup; there’s a lovely mix of wearable neutrals and daring bold colours to play with.
And in case you’re unfamiliar with Jean-Michel Basquiat, have a read through our list of 10 things to know about him while you check out the entire collection.
The edgiest and most makeup-oriented brand in town has ventured further into skincare territory with its new Meltdown and Rehab collections. The Meltdown products are all about makeup removal and promise to make makeup removal super simple. Our favourite product has to be the Lip Oil Stick that looks like a clear stick of lip balm. It’ll rid of even the toughest liquid lipsticks while keeping your lips conditioned. The range also has a cleansing oil stick and a dissolving spray.
The Rehab range on the other hand is more about prepping your skin for makeup. There’s a Pore Refining Peel ($39) which is a super-satisfying peel-off mask, a Hot Springs Hydrating Gel ($42) for intensive hydration without greasiness, Pretty Gritty Skin Polish ($40) for smoother skin, and a Lip Love balm ($25) to nourish your lips.
Oh and something else that’s quite exciting is the addition of a new shade to the brand’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion ($33) line. The colour is called Free-Base and it’s a matte white eyeshadow base which is absolutely perfect for making bold eyeshadow shades really pop.
Give your lips a break from all the drying lipsticks with Mac’s new lip oils. They feel incredibly comfortable on the lips and coat them in a blend of oils and soothing ingredients that can lock in that moisture for hours. You can even apply it on top of another liquid lipstick for a super glossy finish. There are four colours in the range, though all of them skew more or less different shades of pink when applied to the lips.
French cosmetics brand Codage has arrived in Singapore at Escentials stores. It embraces the core of French pharmacy practices by personalising its skincare for specific skincare needs and is best known for its customised serums.
There are two categories of serums on offer: Haute Couture serums, made on-demand, or Prêt-à-Porter serums that respond to specific skin needs. Each serum is composed of nutri-elements, synergetic cocktails of active ingredients that treat precise skin issues.
Dry skin beauties will have mad love for the hydrating Rose range from Fresh, but the latest Umbrian Clay range to emerge from its labs is looking to be the perfect thing for oily skin types. The hero product is the Umbrian Clay Purifying Mask that comes in two sizes, $38 for 30ml or $95 for 100ml. It’s a three-in-one treatment to minimise the appearance of pores and detoxify the skin without drying it out.
Umbrian Clay is one of the earliest known cosmetic ingredients that actually dates back to the sixth century, and Fresh has harnessed the mineral-rich clay to combat congestion and clarify your skin.
You can also try out other products in the Umbrian Clay range on Sephora.sg, like the Purifying Facial Toner, $54, the Oil-Free Lotion, $65, Mattifying Face Exfoliant, $55 and Mattifying Serum, $61.
Since it launched over 20 years ago, the Vitamin E Moisture Cream remains one of The Body Shop’s best-selling products. It’s lightweight enough for Singapore’s humidity, absorbs easily, and keeps your skin hydrated and protected with vitamin E, hyaluronic acid and wheat germ oil.
The brand has released a limited-edition designed edition of the cream this month, with a new graphic look designed by Eley Kishimoto that’s inspired by the pops of pink and vibrancy springing up across the new season catwalks. And hey, you’ll even get an exclusive clutch designed by Eley Kishimoto with every purchase of the limited-edition moisture cream.
