Beauty Writer Sofia Kim's Favourite Products For The Month Of December
#1: Hera Sensual Tint in No.325 Pure Red, $43
image

This checks all the boxes of what any good lip tint should be. It is saturated with colour pigments but still gives a lightweight, comfortable feel on my puckers. It does not dry out and is really long-lasting thanks to an adhesive jelly wax that coats the lips evenly and locks in the colour with a non-sticky finish. The applicator comes in the shape of a cupid’s bow to achieve either a “just-bitten” gradient lip or a bold full-coverage lip.

#2: Nars Brow Perfector, $38
image

I really love the slim packaging of this eyebrow pencil, which comes with a long-lasting formula that delivers a rich colour payoff. The oval-shaped tip helps to create soft, hair-like strokes for effortless building and blending, allowing one to achieve the desired eyebrow shape.

#3: Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Extreme in No.114 Epitome, $50
image

When I look for a matte lipstick, I would prefer one that feels weightless and sits comfortably on my puckers. This does just that and more. It is made with ultra-micronised pigments for full colour payoff. Natural rice and magnesia powders give a dramatic powdery matte finish while matcha, almond oil and vitamin E hydrate and nourishes.

#4: Sigi Skin Morning Glow Sunscreen, $58
image

Truth: I have been using this for the entire month of December and probably am about to finish the entire tube already. It is great for those with oily and combination skin types as it is super lightweight, does not give a greasy finish and even doubles up as a moisturiser. It is formulated with avocado extracts to hydrate, acai extracts to counteract the effects of the sun’s harmful rays and niacinamide to brighten, moisturise and strengthen skin’s resilience.

#5: Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette, $83
image

From soft mattes to fun metallics, this has been my go-to palette during the festivities to create a pink eyeshadow look. Each shade contains the brand’s Pigment Infusion System for velvety, bright pigments that blend easily, stay rich and last for hours.

#6: IDS Skincare Dermashield Mask, $160 for a box of 10
image

I love how this sheet mask gives instant results and did not feel too rich either. Besides hydrating my skin and boosting its radiance, it also protects it from harmful UV rays and even blue light, the light emitted from our technological devices.

#7: Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in No.7 Honey Glam, $36
image

This contains a string of plant oils derived from hazelnut, organic jojoba and macadamia to hydrate puckers and imparts a non-sticky, comfortable coat of shine. I especially love the specks of glitter infused in the formula that is perfect for the party season.

#8: Kiehl's ‘Made For All’ Gentle Body Wash, $55
image

This gel-type body wash is formulated with 95 per cent naturally-derived ingredients and is extremely gentle on my skin. Sustainably-sourced aloe vera soothes and imparts moisture while hand-harvested soap tree extract helps
provide a mild, frothy lather.
