There’s much to say about beauty with a purpose.
Whether it’s protecting our planet the way Clarins is doing with an Earth-conscious initiative to support mangrove reforestation projects in southern Thailand or how Chanel is reconnecting us with the idea of travel with the debut of its Les Eaux De Chanel Paris-Paris fragrance, it seems as if beauty brands are reminding us that there’s so much more out there in the world.

First launched in 2018, Chanel’s Les Eaux De Chanel fragrance collection is inspired by destinations significant to Gabrielle Chanel during her lifetime such as Edinburgh and Biarritz. The latest and sixth lineup is “Paris-Paris” which encompasses the energy and elegant charm of the City of Lights where her Maison is based at today. To do achieve that, Olivier Polge, Chanel’s nose, concocted a blend of Damascena Rose along with fresh citrus accents, pink peppercorn extract and a patchouli base. To complement this revitalising scent, there is also a body lotion.
The Les Eaux De Chanel Paris-Paris eau de toilette ($220) and body lotion ($104) will be available at Chanel Fragrance and Beauty boutiques, Takashimaya S.C. counter and the Chanel Fragrance and Beauty e-shop from May 5
To commemorate Earth Day, Clarins is teaming up with French environmental protection organisation PUR Project to support mangrove reforestation in southern Thailand. To fund the activities, the beauty giant has launched a limited-edition version of its Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream. Housed in a 100 per cent recycled plastic packaging, the latter is decorated with illustrations of mangroves designed by Claire Courtin-Clarins, eco-artist and granddaughter of the brand’s founder. Proceeds from the sale of the cream will go towards the reforestation efforts and the local communities who will benefit from them. The improved hydrating formula of the hand and nail cream also signifies Clarins’ dedication to the environment with the use of natural plant ingredients that include nourishing organic shea butter, smoothening sesame oil and fortifying Myrrh extract.
The Clarins Hand and Nail Cream ($35 for 75ml) is available at all Clarins beauty counters

Launched in 1992, the Pasha de Cartier Eau de Toilette was launched to capture a sense of hedonism by exploring the aromatic and botanical facets of the fern. This month, the scent collection sees a glamorous update in the form of two limited-edition bottles decorated with a gold- and silver-coloured lid with gadroons and accented with a blue cabochon on the lid that is inspired by the crown of the Pasha de Cartier watch. The collectable bottle design is featured on two Pasha iterations: Pasha Edition Noire Eau de Toilette which enhances the original fern-like accord of the scent from 1992 scent with a breath of citrus and woody freshness as well as the Pasha Parfum, a more intense interpretation of the original Pasha scent with woody and ambergris notes.
The limited-edition Pasha de Cartier Edition Noire Eau de Toilette ($149) and Pasha de Cartier Eau de Parfum ($181) are now available at Cartier
