Living in Singapore, many of us tend to have oilier complexions due to the weather and thus, are not as comfortable with using face oils as compared to, say, a heavy cream or overnight sleeping mask. Although I have combination skin and my T-zone tends to get really oily, this hasn’t stopped me from using a face oil almost every day. Call me obsessed but I love the results it gives every morning when I wake up. My skin appears radiant and feels uber soft. And because I have a terrible habit of sleeping late (read: 3-4am), my skin constantly looks dull and tired. Applying a face oil the night before really helps to rejuvenate and energise my complexion.
If you’re still unsure of the benefits or how exactly face oils work, here’s a quick summary: they deliver intense moisture to your skin fast and are often packed with a cocktail of antioxidant-rich ingredients to fight signs of ageing. If that’s not impressive enough, they even help some active ingredients found in your moisturiser and serum such as retinol and various other vitamins to penetrate deeper (and quicker) to work more effectively.
Besides using just face oils, I also love applying eye oils. We all know the importance of taking care of the skin around our peepers (note: it’s the only part of our face that does not produce any oil). Besides just using my usual eye cream, there are times when I need that added boost of moisture (and anti-aging benefits). Some even feature an applicator that helps to gently massage.
Here, the ones I use on rotation.
