23 Beauty Products We Couldn't Get Enough Of In 2018
#1: Hera UV Mist Cushion, $68
image

I am a huge fan of cushion compacts as they require little effort to apply and are great for on-the-go touch-ups. This gives great coverage yet still imparts a luminous sheen to the skin.  It also features a new and improved formula that is made with a combination of technologies like the Powder Ultra Fine Particle Dispersion Technology, Color Filtering Technology and Moisture Radiance Complex to impart a radiant, translucent glow to the skin. It also feels weightless and is really hydrating too.

#2: Rouge Dior Ultra Rouge in 851 Ultra Shock, $50
image

This is meant to work exactly like how a tattoo would (except that it does not stay on permanently), lasting for up to a reported 12 hours. It also has a creamy formula with vibrant colour pigments thanks to a polymer, which when combined with a plant oil, offers deep hydration.

#3: YSL Beaute All Hours Foundation Stick, $88
image

What takes this stick foundation to “godsend” level (apart from the 20 different shades it offers) is its cream-to-powder texture that is made out of spherical particles and soft focus properties. It minimises imperfections for a smoother, more flawless soft matte finish, which reportedly lasts for 24 hours and is even water and transfer-proof. A cocktail of nourishing oils make for a formula that is non-drying, glides on easily (it is recommended you use your fingers to blend it out) so touching up while you’re on a night out is no big deal and feels like second skin. Bonus: it doubles up as a concealer and can even be used to contour and correct uneven skin tone.

#4: Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara, $46, Sephora
image

Its 4DAmplifier brush is said to lengthen lashes up to four times more volume in just one coat. One side of the brush is made with denser bristles to generously coat lashes while the other side comes with shorter bristles, which are meant to be used on the lower lashes to prevent any smudging. Plus, it has a waterproof formula so you do not have to worry about it budging.

#5: Dior Addict Lacquer Plump, $50
image

This provides long-lasting colour payoff, intense shine and comfortable wear. Its formula consists of an oil-in-water emulsion that is infused with pigments and combined with a natural-origin hibiscus extract for a plumping effect. Hyaluronic acid is also used to provide optimum moisture.

#6: Hera Cell Essence, $80
image

This is saturated with eight ingredients that help hydrate, nourish and boost radiance to provide a dewy complexion that helps makeup stay on for longer. It is also fast-absorbing sans residue, which also means that foundation goes on smoothly.

#7: Laura Mercier Colour Infusion Blush in Chai, $49
image

Said to provide 10 hours of buildable, natural-looking colour, the weightless formula is made with micro-fine powders and glides and blends easily onto the skin for a flawless finish.

#8: Cle de Peau Beaute Lip Glorifier, $62
image

What I really love about this is how it helps prep and prime the puckers for lipstick application. It plumps it up, fades away any imperfections like fine lines and imparts a rosy pink sheen for a healthy-looking appearance. Besides that, it is formulated with shea butter, safflower and argan oil to hydrate dry lips.

#9: Chantecaille Gold Recovery Mask, $460
image

While many anti-agers typically treat fine lines around your peepers and forehead, this takes it up a notch by targeting all types including vertical ones (read: laugh lines) all because of lipopeptide. It increases collagen and hyaluronic acid level that exists within the skin and since it is highly compatible with the skin’s natural structure, it works even more effectively to plump up and soften the look of all lines. A second type of peptide known as tetrapeptide is found in the powerful formula to suppress the production of excess interleukins, which are responsible for the decline of collagen and elastin thus, resulting in wrinkles, sagging skin, and uneven skin tone.

#10: Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment, $148, Sephora
image

Known to be the brand’s best-seller, this helps to brighten dull complexions by sloughing away dead skin cells and treating clogged pores. With continued use, this reportedly reduces the appearance of hyperpigmentation while treating visible signs of ageing to reveal a younger and healthier-looking complexion. Licorice is also infused in the formula to boost skin’s radiance.

#11: Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour, $75
image

What are some of the main concerns when using a gel-type moisturiser? Some may not feel hydrating enough but this is one that definitely makes the cut. It features an exclusive Auto-Replenishing Technology that instantly boosts skin’s moisture levels while helping skin activate its own internal water source to deliver non-stop skin-plumping hydration. It also strengthens skin’s moisture barrier and improves the look of fine lines, flakiness and tightness from dehydration.

#12: SK-II Overnight Miracle Mask, $140 for a kit of six capsules
image

This is formulated with the brand’s signature ingredient Pitera to clarify skin and a derivative of the albizia plant, which is said to be good for hydration. The result: plumper, smoother and healthier-looking skin the morning after.

#13: Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Serum, $265
image

Using the brand’s exclusive technology known as Ginsenisphere, this harnesses the power of ginseng to enhance the dermal-epidermal junction (DEJ) to plump up the skin from within and improve the appearance of wrinkles, firm up facial contours and deliver optimum hydration.

#14: Hera Lip Polish and Mask in Pink Lemonade, $38
image

One single pot contains a lip polish and a mask. The former is saturated with natural enzyme-based extracts to get rid off dead skin cells, refine and remove any flakiness while the latter can be used as an overnight lip treatment or as a base during the day, and is made with a Moisture Wrapping Technology for long-lasting moisture.

#15: Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm, $26, Sephora
image

Apart from just hydrating your puckers, this also provides anti-ageing benefits while plumping and imparting nutrients to your lips for a youthful, healthy-looking pout. Plus, it does not feel greasy and wears comfortably on the lips.

#16: YSL Beaute Rouge Pur Couture, $54
image

Besides its lightweight, highly-pigmented formula (you really only need one swipe to achieve full coverage), we are loving how this comes packaged in a slim and sleek design that features a square-cut bullet for precise application.

#17: Fresh Black Tea Kombucha Facial Treatment Essence, $108
image

Its star ingredient kombucha protects skin against environmental aggressors and prevents signs of ageing. It also has powerful antioxidant activity, which helps to effectively neutralise free radicals and counteract the effects of pollutants.

#18: Lancome L'Absolu Lacquer, $48
image

With a weightless and non-sticky formula, this feels uber comfortable on the puckers and does not require multiple touch-ups. It is made with glycerin to keep your lips moisturised and hydrated for a reported eight hours.

#19: Lancer The Method Polish (Sensitive Skin), $120, Escentials
image

The American skincare brand founded by celebrity dermatologist Dr. Lancer offers effective yet gentle products and targets aged and mature skin. Its Lancer Method (which, if we may add, are sworn by celebs like Kim Kardashian and Sofia Vergara) comprises three simple steps: polish (with a scrub), cleanse and nourish (read: moisturise to stimulate the epidermis layer so skin can rejuvenate itself.  We are seriously loving this gentle scrub as it removes surface debris while infusing the skin with oxygen and other nutrients to make it more radiant and smooth.

#20: Cle de Peau Beaute Radiant Cushion Foundation, $130
image

Made with the brand’s Hydrating Essence Complex to seal in moisture and prevent dryness, the brand’s first-ever cushion foundation is said to impart a radiant glow to your skin while providing natural coverage that’s buildable.

#21: Su:m37 Water-full Radiant Hydrating Glow Cream, $80
image

This lightweight cream is made with three key ingredients. Aqua Ferm activates the moisture proteins found in cells and keeps your complexion hydrated. Aqua Light, which contains truffle-derived yeast extract and Western medicinal herbs, helps to suppress melanin production to even out skin tone and fight pigmentation while Poria Light firms and plumps skin to better reflect light.

#22: Shu Uemura Matte Supreme, $43
image

While many liquid lipsticks may feel quite heavy on your puckers, this feels and wears exactly like an ink — weightless, slightly watery and super pigmented (you really only need one swipe of this). It also dries down to a smudge-resistant formula and features a Clearlast Polymer, which helps prevent colour bleeding.

#23: Laura Mercier Velour Extreme Matte Lipstick, $40
image

Made with saturated pigments, this provides amazing colour payoff without fading or smudging. Designed like a pen, this is also perfect for traveling and makes application a breeze.
