Besides coming in the form of bouquets, these days, you’ll find heaps of rose petals incorporated into luxurious facial elixirs, rose ottos infused into skin-saving salves, and rose water shuttled into skin-perfecting makeup bases.

Rich in brightening vitamin C and fortifying antioxidants, roses help to combat skin conditions like acne, while enhancing the skin regeneration process.

Thanks to its calming properties, the flower also soothes inflammation, making it the perfect ingredient for sensitive skin. And then, there’s its pleasing scent, which makes your beauty routine so much more therapeutic.

“Bulgarian roses have been delicately harvested and distilled since 10th century Persia, and were considered the height of beauty. In the Roman Empire, the extracted rose oil has been dubbed liquid gold,” says Eva Soh, director of home-grown skincare brand Myskinbar.
