The New Brightening Skincare Products You Need To Get That Radiant Glow
Chanel Sublimage La Collection Lumiere

If you want a skincare range that not only boosts radiance but also treats imperfections like wrinkles and hyperpigmentation, this is for you. The star ingredient of the line is the potent antioxidant Vanilla Planifolia extract, which not only evens out skin tone, brightens and regulates pigmentation, but also stimulates skin regeneration so your complexions looks and feels plump and youthful.

This year, the collection is adding two new products: The La Creme Lumiere ($594) and La Lotion Lumiere Exfoliante ($195). The former is a hydrating yet lightweight creamy moisturiser that just melts into your face effortlessly, while the latter is a jellified water infused with AHAs to gently exfoliate and stimulate cell renewal, fight free radical damage and boost radiance.

Dior Prestige Light-in-White

Inspired by traditional Chinese medicine, this takes a preventative rather than curative approach to skincare. It works to delay the appearance of dark spots and premature skin yellowing by adopting a healthy lifestyle and boosting circulation. The circulation of hydrolipidic flows is essential to skin cell renewal and also plays an important role in the elimination of melanin and glycated proteins (which causes skin to look yellow). However, daily environmental stress causes these flows to slow down, resulting in the emergence of dark spots, dullness and sallowness.

The new L’Oleo-Essence Lumiere ($167) has rose essence, white rose oil and natural PHAs to boost the skin’s hydrolipidic flows, improve metabolism and gently exfoliate to give you softer, more translucent skin immediately. You can use the oil-gel after cleansing, but before your serum, with a cotton pad. The range also has a new UV Protector Youth and Light Sheer Glow ($165), which helps to prevent the formations of pigmentation by protecting skin from UVA, UVB rays, infrared rays, artificial light, visible light and fine particles.

Estee Lauder Perfectionist Pro Brightening Rapid Treatment Ferment2 + Vitamin C

This ultra-lightweight serum takes its inspiration from dermatological procedures and works to quickly boost skin’s radiance and luminousity, as well as even out skin tone. It’s powered by a duo of ferments – molasses and yeast – that helps to boost cell turnover and support skin cells’ natural purification process to treat pigmentation and discolouration. It also has vitamin C that targets the deeper layer of skin to control melanin production and fight free radical damage. As an extra bonus, the Perfectionist Pro Brightening Rapid Treatment Ferment2 + Vitamin C ($88) also has refinishing ingredients to smooth and soften skin, while providing up to 48-hours of hydration.

Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Accelerated Clarity Renewing Ampoules

This helps to jumpstart skin’s natural renew cycle to enhance overall clarity and refresh the complexion in 14 days. Designed to be used twice daily, the Clearly Corrective Accelerated Clarity Renewing Ampoules ($155 for 28 x 1ml vials) has activated vitamin C to treat lighten dark spots. It also has a trio of acids – glycolic, lactic and phytic – to promote cell renewal and resurface skin with fresh cells for a more even appearance. Each ampoule is individually packaged to preserve its potency and provide a dose-controlled amount of active ingredients.

Clarins Bright Plus Advanced Brightening Dark Spot-Targeting Serum

When skin breathes better, it looks brighter. This works like an oxygen shot to the skin to give your complexion a fair, healthy glow. It has a duo of plant extracts – rose-myrtle and acerola seed extract – which help skin cells to capture and consume oxygen so it looks radiant and fresh. The Bright Plus Advanced Brightening Dark Spot-Targeting Serum ($136) also has a brightening complex that rids skin of pigmentation caused by UV rays, pollution and pimples, while also inhibiting the over production of melanin production.

Lancome Clarifique Dual Essence

This essence infused toner is infused with beech bud extract to boosts your skin’s enzymes’ expression and activity to help lighten pigmentation, boost epidermal – that’s the layer of your skin just below your protective barrier – regeneration, hydrate and gently exfoliate. The Clarifique Dual Essence ($14) has a bi-phase formula made of watery essence and lipidic enriched essence to nourish skin and boosts its vitality and ability to act as a barrier. Something unique about this is that its bottle comes with a special whisk in the centre that helps to mix the two together with just a few firm shakes. It’s a fuss-free and fast way to brighten your complexion.

Sisley Phyto-Blanc Pure Bright Activating Serum

The palms of your hands tend to be the fairest part of your body because they actually produce a dermal protein (DKK1) that acts as a natural inhibitor of melanin production. Inspired by this action, Sisley discovered a new ingredient Egyptian Myrobalan extract, which stimulates your fibroblasts ability to produce the DKK1 protein to give you with a radiant, clear complexion. The Phyto-Blanc Pure Bright Activating Serum ($430) is also infused with vitamin E and Alpha Bisabolol to protect against environmental attacks and inflammation, which can cause stress to skin, leading to dullness and hyperpigmentation. Something we love about the luxe concentrate: it provides visible results in just two weeks.
