Bold eye makeup looks were prominent on the FW2020 runways – and we’re totally diggin’ it. Besides unexpected colour-blocking shades washed across the eyelids and the exaggerated graphic eyeliner look, it may be time to take notes of Simone Rocha’s fresh take on colour makeup. The brand played up the fun element with this bright red metallic makeup look on models’ peepers. Bonus: applying the metallic foils onto the lids added texture to the already fun makeup look, according to lead makeup artist Thomas De Kluyver.

For a more wearable take on the eye makeup trend, Stella McCartney and Dior schools us in on a simple and timeless eyeliner look. The former took on a more elegant approach with a classic flick that’s both sophisticated and fuss-free.
Creative and image director for Dior Makeup Peter Philips shares that the ever iconic eye make-up was meant to intensify the look and face shape of each model. “With Diorshow On Stage Liner 091 Matte Black or with Diorshow Khol 099 Black, with which I chose to either line the eye completely, both at the upper and lower lash line, or instead, only at the lower lash line. In a similar style but with a different feel, I created a third variation by drawing two strong lines at the corner of each eyelid, without stretching them outwards too far,” he shares.

One of – if not the – most popular and quintessential hairdo of the 80s and 90s, the updated look now gets a sleek, modern reboot. The new version (seen here at Jil Sander, Loewe and Tom Ford among many other brands) is part ladylike and part lady boss. How to achieve the look: apply a nourishing hair oil or serum (instead of your moisture-zapping gel) for the same glossy finish that you can run your hands through.

And by that, we mean a clean, flawless base, strong brows and a bold red lippie. It really doesn’t matter whether you’re going for a sheer, cherry shade, a coral-red or a deep raspberry look, so long as it matches your skin tone, you’re good to go. The best part: the look is super versatile and can take you from your morning meetings to date nights and everything else in between. What’s not to like?
