The February 2019 Beauty Launches We Can't Wait To Try, From Brightening Buys To A Mochi Mask
#1: Dior Forever Fluid Foundation, $85
image

This long-lasting foundation is formulated with two new structuring agents that help the product adhere to the skin while preventing it from becoming destabalised by heat or humidity. It also has absorbent beads to neutralise shine and create a velvet, natural-looking matte finish. A trio of powders (blurring, mattifying and hemispheric) work together to absorb excess sebum all day long, smooth out irregularities and adhere to the skin to perfectly reflect light for a fresh complexion.

#2: Nars Super Radiant Booster, $52
image

Give your complexion an added glow with this limited edition radiance booster. With a lightweight, sheer rose-gold tint, it enhances the luminosity of all skin tones. Mix into your favourite foundation for an all over glow or dab lightly on the high planes of your face for a multi-dimensional effect.

#3: La Prairie Platinum Rare Cellular Life-Lotion, $1,000
image

Fortified with Platinum Peptide, this ultra-luxe skincare lotion acts on fundamental cellular functions so skin cells start to work optimally again for improved skin health. Complemented by its Exclusive Cellular Complex, it restarts skin’s detoxification functions, improves cellular energy and strengthens skin cells against external aggressors. Over time, skin texture looks more refined, skin tone is brighter, wrinkles are softened while elasticity is improved.

#4: Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Gel Cream, $80
image

UV rays contribute to the formation of abnormal blood vessels, which stimulates melanocytes (one of the root causes of dark spots). To combat that, Sakura-Bright Complex is infused to supress such blood vessels and melanocyte stimulating factors. Natsune extract derived from the jujube fruit helps skin respond rapidly to skincare ingredients for instant results. Melanin Crush, a process that uses rehmannia root extract, vitamin C and 4MSK is incorporated to inhibit tyrosinase (a copper-containing enzyme that catalyses the production of melanin).

#5: Chanel Le Blanc Brightening Gentle Touch Foundation
image

Instead of just focusing on brightening and evening out skin tone with a Ceramic Complex, this cushion foundation is made with hyaluronic acid and glycerine to keep skin looking fresh, hydrated and soft for a reported eight hours. As it has a water-in-oil emulsion infused in the formula, this gives a fresh and silky texture that glides easily onto the skin for a flawless finish.

#6: Clarins White Plus Spot Corrector, $60
image

It comes with a stainless steel roller ball designed for precise and highly targeted application, while allowing it to glide smoothly over the skin. It also has a lightweight packaging as it is meant to be used on-the-go and can even be applied over makeup. Thanks to a vitamin C derivative, it tackles the production of melanin at its source for quicker results. Additionally, dipotassium glycyrrhizate helps to soothe and calm while limiting the overproduction of melanin induced by UV and pollution-related inflammation and factors.

#7: Clinique Fresh Pressed Clinical 1+1 System, $52
image

Make the most of your routine with this comprehensive yet fuss-free skincare system. Comprising of two serum boosters, the one containing vitamin C is designed to be used in the day for its potent antioxidant and collagen-building capabilities while the one containing retinol helps to give your complexion an overhaul overnight as you sleep. All you have to do is to mix two to three drops of each serum into your regular moisturiser for smoother, brighter and firmer skin over time.

#8: Waso Silky Smooth Mochi Mask, $15, exclusively at Sephora
image

Packaged like a takeout container, you’ll be in for a sensorial treat with this DIY mask. All you have to do is mix the powder and liquid sachets together and stir to create a bouncy blob. Spread it all over cleansed and dry skin and let ingredients like hydrolysed rice and citrus peel extracts work on your skin. It also has a gentle warming sensation which helps to stimulate microcirculation. Rinse off thoroughly after five minutes to reveal brighter, plumper skin.

#9: Make Up For Ever Matte Velvet Skin, $72
image

Dealing with faded, smudged and dull foundation will become a thing of the past with this mattifying foundation. Thanks to its Flexi Fit Complex, this full-coverage remains weightless on skin as it adapts to every facial movement, doesn’t cake and provides a velvety matte finish which lasts all day.

#10: Bio-Essence Bio-Gold Eye Power Illuminator, $36.90
image

Targeting early signs of ageing around the delicate eye area, this illuminating eye cream is a blend of 24-karat Bio-Gold flakes and potent antioxidants to brighten, decongest and hydrate the eye contours. It also features the brand’s latest patented Bio Energy ComplexTM, which accelerates skin regeneration for improved firmness.

#11: Allies Of Skin Triple Hyaluronic Antioxidant Hydration Serum, $105
image

While hydration and antioxidants are the basics for healthy skin, this not-so-basic serum works overtime to intensely hydrate and protect your skin against the hazardous effects of free radicals. Thanks to its supercharged formula which consists of three forms of Hyaluronic Acid, Resveratrol Ferment, Superoxide Dismutase and multiple plant-based antioxidants, your skin is plumper and brighter. Plus, it also contains niacinamide and phospholipids to further protect and strengthen skin, keeping it in tip-top condition.

#12: Sofina Est The Lotion, $98
image

Healthy skin starts with ample hydration to improve your skin’s ability to retain moisture with this lightweight skincare lotion. Formulated to kickstart sluggish cellular metabolism, it accelerates skin’s self-renewal capacity, including restoring skin’s barrier function for a well-balanced complexion.
