Pantone’s colour of 2018 might be ultra violet, but the eye makeup that ruled the S/S ’18 runways is more about the other hue on Barney. Before you squirm – it’s not about smacking a glob of grass-green above your peepers. At Missoni, it was a sweet mint-toned liner worn thick; at Emporio Armani, shimmery green was smudged with dark eyeshadow for an edgy party look; and at Topshop Unique, glittery green accented the corner of the eyes. In other words, subtlety is now what makes it super-dee-duper.

When contrasting two shades of green, the darker one should be closer to the eyes as it lends depth.
