On Feb 2, over 20 stylish and fun-loving friends of FEMALE gathered at Gucci Beauty’s first standalone boutique in Singapore. Among them were the likes of Kelly Limerick, star crochet artist who’s done commissions for the Italian luxury label’s fashion arm; up-and-coming Gen Z creatives such as the designer/artist Elden Zachery, celebrity stylist Putri Adif and dancer/content creator Dineaish Rajendran; and some of FEMALE‘s favourite local models including Serena Jane McNeill, Julie Lieu, Kerni Chew and Saima Jha.
The occasion? An exclusive introduction to this new beauty wonder emporium, which opened its doors late last year, and to discover first-hand its range of products all designed to celebrate one’s self.
Among the star products of the night were the turquoise-bottled Gucci Flora Gorgeous Jasmine and the limited-edition Palette Beaute Des Yeux Gorgeous Flora (bottom).
Located at #B2-44/46, the Insta-worthy space – also Gucci Beauty’s flagship store here – boasts welcoming pink walls, cherry-red parquet flooring and antique-inspired fixtures as a nod to ’70s Italian style and the glamorous-meets-retro aesthetic Gucci is known for. (The vintage look extends to its product packaging too – clock the case of its best-selling Lipstick Rouge Brilliant, for example, which features the print of an archival Gucci pearl brooch.)
Meanwhile, the key features in-store can be said to be nothing short of state-of-the-art. Take the Virtual Try-On screens, which offer filters of the diverse and dramatic beauty looks created by Gucci Global Makeup Artist Thomas de Kluyver for the brand’s runway shows. (Needless to say, our guests had plenty of fun with them – see below for proof.) Or the Immersive Wall through which visitors can discover more about Gucci’s cult fragrances simply by placing a bottle of choice on the touch screen pad in front of it.
This experimental and individualistic approach to beauty is also reflected in the star products of the night. From the fragrance department, there’s the Gucci Flora Gorgeous Jasmine eau de parfum – the latest addition to the popular Gucci Floral family of scents. Balancing notes of sweet jasmine, zesty mandarin essence and creamy magnolia, it’s at once soothing and uplifting (the spunky Miley Cyrus – who fronted the campaign for Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia – remains its face).
And for makeup: the Palette Beaute Des Yeux Gorgeous Flora that’s perhaps one of Gucci Beauty’s best testaments that it’s truly all about celebrating what makes “you uniquely you”. Think 12 electrifying shades like blue and purple in three finishes, all formulated to be multi-wear (use it on the eyes, cheeks, you name it.) and packaged in a pretty gold-trimmed pink case – the buzz it created among our makeup-loving friends at our event said plenty.
