Attention K-beauty fans: Ksisters, the local retailer known for all things hallyu beauty, fashion and lifestyle, is back with another pop-up since its first three years ago. Held at Crane Living in Joo Chiat from now till Sep 11, the ‘Jung Island’ event evokes the summery vibes of Jeju – with yellow canola flowers and the woody scent of cypress from the South Korean island taking over the space. Scroll on for a peek at what to expect a the pop-up which is open from 11am to 8pm.
The limited-edition merchandise you’d find at the pop-up includes caps and scarves in a soothing pastel yellow – a nod to the fields of canola flowers synonymous with Jeju. Also available is a tote bag that you can redeem if you spend over $180.
Also exclusively available at the pop-up: No.7 Garden Rain – a soy wax candle with notes of apple blossom, water lily and white tea produced in collaboration with Ksisters in-house beauty label Jung Beauty and Cosmic Mansion. The candle retails for $52. For the uninitiated, Cosmic Mansion is a lifestyle brand hailing from Korea that specialises in products such as scented linen sachets, reed diffusers (which are also available at the pop-up) and candles.
Catch a glimpse of the new Jung Beauty Probiotics Firming & Brightening Eye Serum – described as a lightweight six-in-one product that targets concerns like dark circles, under-eye bags and fine lines. Formulated with bakuchiol and brightening ingredients, it’s also non-comedogenic and packed with probiotics.
Another exciting brand to look out for is Lavien which just launched a new toner, serum and ampoule (made with Jeju green tea leaf) that’s part of its Kombu Biome range. Other beauty brands you can expect to see are Ohiohoo (which just launched seven new matte lipsticks) and Pink Wonder.
The space also carries lifestyle products from brands like Hinok which is behind the cypress scent that fills the shop. The brand uses 100 per cent hinoki cypress water extracted from three-decade-old Jeju cypress tress to formulate its Hinok The Spray (pictured).
Besides beauty offerings, customers can immerse themselves even deeper into the Korean experience through a Bojagi workshop that teaches you the traditional textile art of cloth-wrapping.
On a sweet note, Ksisters has partnered up with local ice cream shop Kooks Creamery to come up with two ice cream flavours inspired by Jeju: an apricot yoghurt flavour treat called Jeju Sunshine and a blueberry yoghurt flavour named Jeju Breeze.
