These Lightweight, Nourishing Facial Oils Will Transform Your Skin

by SOFIA KIM  /   March 2, 2018

Just because you have oily or combination skin doesn’t mean you can’t use facial oils. In fact, your skin might be producing excess oil because it doesn’t have sufficient moisture.

“The temperature difference between indoor places and outdoors (in our city) can be quite big because of the air-conditioning. So a lot of women are actually complaining about having oily skin and using products to combat oily skin when in all actuality their skin is dry. And because of this, their skin produces more oil,” shares Japanese brand Three’s global makeup artist. In fact, typical skin concerns such as clogged pores and acne are worsened due to the lack of natural oils in our skin. So adding a facial oil to your routine actually helps to restore balance to oily skin and helps it to stay healthy and clear.

Apart from pumping dry skin with a boost of moisture, facial oils are often also packed with a blend of antioxidant-rich ingredients to fight signs of ageing. Another plus: oil molecules also help certain active ingredients in your anti-ageing creams and serums, like retinol and vitamin C, to penetrate deeper into the epidermis to work more effectively.

To help you get started, here are the lightweight (so they won’t feel heavy in humid Singapore) and nourishing facial oils to try.
