Hermes is continuing the expansion of its complexion products – the newest to join the family is this highlighting powder, which contains a high concentration of golden mother-of-pearl and can be applied to the face, eyes and decolletage for a glimmering accent. The powder takes its inspiration from the age-old craft of goldsmithing and comes beautifully embossed with the Maison’s traditional ex-libris motif (the latter also appears on the lacquered case’s exterior in permabrass).
The Japanese skincare giant’s synonymous Facial Treatment Essence has been essentially unchanged for over 40 years (when you’ve got a perfect thing going…) but SK-II releases special edition packaging from time to time. In a nod to the upcoming Lunar New Year festivities, the latest limited-edition model is this energising design with a tiger imprint.
The new Miss Dior Palette is a re-imagination of the beloved Dior fragrance, Miss Dior. Created by Peter Philips, creative and image director for Dior Make-up, the palette features three eyeshadows embossed with the maison’s signature houndstooth check and a cute dagger bow in delicate shades of pink; a lipstick with a satin finish; a long-wear blush engraved with “Miss Dior”, a glittering top coat for nails, as well as a double-ended brush created exclusively for this model.
To celebrate the Year of the Tiger, the House has launched an exclusive gift set comprising four Rouge Dior Lipsticks in both matte and velvet finishes, as well as the Rouge Dior Universal Lip Balm. The pretty limited-edition fabric case is swathed in a revisited Toile de Jouy pattern inspired by 18th century textile archives.
Gucci has just revealed a trio of newly designed red lipsticks to celebrate the Lunar New Year. The collection includes two existing Rouge a Levres Voile shades in Goldie Red and Mildred Rosewood. Marina Scarlet is a limited-edition shade designed specifically for the Lunar New Year and is a festive red with rich orange undertones.
The French House’s Spring 2022 makeup collection pays homage to Mademoiselle Chanel‘s legendary villa – named La Pausa – where natural, earthy colours and sparkling sunlight surrounded the villa when Spring arrived. The collection includes this limited-edition blush in a terracotta brown to warm up complexions. Plus, it also features a sunbeam motif embossed on the powder compact designed as a graphic representation of the Riviera.
Meanwhiel, the eye makeup palette features soft, sunlit hues of the landscape surrounding La Pausa. The palette features a khaki brown shade that is reminiscent of the olive trees in the garden, accompanied by gold and copper shades that evoke the dazzling sunlight of the Cote d’Azur.
The Lunar New Year collection comprises three new shades in collaboration with three of the brand’s ambassadors (read: South Korean It-girl Han So Hee and Chinese actors Tang Wei and Turbo Liu). The range features rich berry shades and peachy nudes that are formulated with hydrating ingredients for comfortable wear all day.
This contains micro-fine powders that smooth, blur, and offers a soft-focus finish for a flawless and enhanced complexion. It is also fortified with rose wax and almond oil for a hydrating formula that glides on easily and prevents makeup from getting patchy and cakey. For some festive flair, the packaging is dressed in a limited-edition red tiger print design.
Besides makeup products, the festive collection also consists of the brand’s iconic Magic Cream that is saturated with a cocktail of skin-loving ingredients including vitamins C and E, as well as shea butter and rose hip oil to improve the look of lines, brighten and retain moisture. Similar to the other products in the range, this also features a tiger striped design on the lid of the bottle.
For the year of the tiger, the packaging of Clinique’s spot corrector and moisturising lotion get a vibrant and auspicious red upgrade with gold tiger caps and an all-red bottle. Spot the cheeky tiger head design on the cap of the lotion.
