March 2019's Beauty Launches Gives Us Long-Wear Foundations, Pretty Pink Blushers And More
#1: Shu Uemura Unlimited Foundation, $72
image

After an extensive study of more than 3,000 Asian women’s faces, Shu Uemura’s Unlimited Foundation range consists of 24 shades made precisely for Asian skin tones. It has an ultra-thin texture that can be layered easily to create the coverage you desire without caking. Plus, it’s formulated with an ideal ratio of film former (which holds the foundation onto the skin) and oil absorbers to keep skin fresh and radiant for flawless wear all day long.

#2: Diorsnow Skin-Perfecting Liquid Light, $150
image

This corrects uneven skin tone on both the surface and the inner layers of the skin. An ultra-potent natural yeast extract protects skin cells and strengthens cellular resistance to repeated external aggressions that may boost melanin production. Diorsnow Brightening Edelweiss Complex works together with Japanese angelica root extract to even out skin tone by targeting the effects of overproduction of melanin. On the surface level, optical correcting micro pearls help neutralise yellowish complexions and diffuses a rosy light through micronized powders.

#3: Chanel Rouge Coco Flash, $52
image

With a total of 27 shades, this comes packaged with a transparent shimmering golden cap to reveal the colour inside so choosing a shade will no longer be a hassle. There are also three translucent topcoats in the range to layer on top of lipsticks — one has golden shimmer, which enhances shine while another has got orange undertones. The last option, with black hues, adds depth to any lipstick. Other shades include nudes, pink, reds and burgundy.

#4: Sulwhasoo Bloomstay Vitalizing Serum, $188
image

At the heart of Sulwhasoo’s latest skincare range is the Green Plum Blossom extract, an antioxidant-rich compound to neutralise free radical damage and prevent cellular energy from depleting. Moreover, this nutrient-rich serum also contains the extract of five germinated fruits and seeds to prevent the stiffening and degradation of collagen fibres so skin remains firm and radiant.

#5: Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense Aqua Gel, $56
image

Besides its weightless, gel-based formula that works perfectly for those living in humid climates, this is made with a Pollution-Protecting Technology that forms a protective barrier on the skin to prevent oxidative stress (which may lead to inflammation, unwanted breakouts and accelerated skin ageing) caused by environmental factors, prominent in any urban jungle. Vitamin E is also infused to neutralise skin-damaging free radicals, offer antioxidant protection and hydrate.

#6: Armani Beauty Lip Magnet Freeze in 305, $57
image

Featuring the same ultra-matte finish and weightless feel as its Lip Magnet series, Lip Magnet Freeze range features sherbet pastel colours that are natural and utterly pretty. With a luminous and vivid pigment payoff, you can achieve full coverage colour in just one swipe.

#7: Lancome Rénergie Multi-Lift Ultra Full Spectrum Cream, $175
image

Formulated to target a loss of firmness and radiance, this two-in-one cream acts as a lifting cream as well as a brightening one. Thanks to its potent concentration of a vitamin C extract, melanin production is inhibited right at the source. In the meantime, vitamin C also helps support collagen synthesis. This is complemented by yeast extract, which reinforces skin’s dermal tissues for firmer, more resilient skin.

#8: Nars Exposed Cheek Palette, $90
image

With six new shades in satin and pearlescent textures, this palette is perfect for creating perfectly sculpted cheeks for virtually all skin tones. Each cheek colour is made with translucent micro-spheres containing pure pigments for a lightweight texture that remains luminous and vibrant for hours on end.

#9: Elizabeth Arden Prevage Progressive Renewal Treatment, $362
image

If you’ve always wanted to test out at-home chemical peels but are wary of the strength of over-the-counter formulas, look no further. Made specifically with people like you in mind, this four-week supply comes in four seven-day ampoules that increase in strength. This means that you begin this treatment programme with gentle concentrations of AHA, PHA and Prevage’s signature antioxidant Idebenone. With each passing week, the concentration increases, allowing for optimal benefits while enabling your skin to “get used” to the resurfacing power of AHA and PHA. We also like that it combines AHA and PHA for a synergistic effect. Plus, PHA essentially have similar effects as AHA except they are of a larger molecule so they are gradually absorbed into the skin and have a gentler action that’s perfect for irritation-prone skin.

#10: Shiseido Makeup ControlledChaos MascaraInk, $50
image

Due to the heat and humidity, many of us tend to have oilier complexions, including oily lids. Thus, it is important to choose eye makeup products that are budge-proof so you don’t end up with smudged makeup at the end of the day. This not only comes in four fun colours but also contains film formers and polymers that set and seal the formula for a reported 24 hours. Its innovative brush design features two concave sides to boost the volume of lashes (Asian lashes, rejoice) while the two flat sides lengthens.

#11: Sisley Sunleya GE Super Soin Solaire Silky Body Cream SPF 30, $200
image

Going beyond sun protection, this body sunscreen is also enriched with powerful botanicals that help combat visible signs of ageing. Einkorn Wheat extract is rich in a peptide that has powerful antioxidant properties to prevent glycation while Dill extract protects the breakdown of supportive tissues in the dermis layer of the skin. The result? Firmer and smoother skin.

#12: Benefit Cosmetics Dr. Feelgood Silky Mattifying Powder, $51
image

More than 40 years after the original Dr. Feelgood Mattifying Balm was first launched, Benefit Cosmetics now introduces a silkier version in a powder form. Designed to be used like a setting powder to lock in makeup wear, it instantly mattifies your complexion and contains oil-absorbing spheres which keep excess shine at bay. Best part? It feels like virtually nothing and doesn’t leave a white cast on your skin.

#13: The Body Shop Shea Butter, $31
image

Made with Community Trade shea butter from Ghana and 100 per cent vegan, pamper yourself with it so you can also help support a community. Each packet of this multi-purpose shea butter is made of 192 shea nuts and has a rich and creamy texture that melts onto skin once applied. Plus, you can use it from head to toe as it nourishes frazzled ends, hydrates dry skin and heals cracked lips.

#14: Jo Malone London Wild Flower & Weeds Collection, $112
image

Inspired by the rustic beauty of diverse plants left to grow freely in the wild, this limited collection of five scents are also beautifully painted in their key ingredients. Hemlock & Bergamot is airy and fresh as it is also accompanied by heliotrope, mimosa and cucumber; Cade & Cedarwood is warm and sensual with accents of vanilla; Lupin & Patchouli is dynamic and vibrant as rose and mandarin perfectly complements it; Willow & Amber is soft and comforting thanks to the addition of vetiver and cashmere wood; and Nettle & Wild Achillea is crisp yet tender with accents of bergamot and musk.

#15: Yours Fully Yours Complete Regimen, $129, at getyours.co
image

The brand-new kid on the block in Singapore’s exciting skincare industry is Yours, a fully customisable approach to ensuring that your skin gets exactly what it needs and nothing more. To begin, fill out a simple questionnaire on its website, detailing your skin type and your main concerns, and submit a selfie taken under well-lit conditions. Then, all you have to do is order a Fully Yours Complete Regime to receive a day cream, night cream and serum made in Switzerland that specially targets all your skin issues with zero trial and error.
