New Arrivals: The Beauty Releases In Our February Must-Have List
Porcelain Skincare, from $70
image

Local beauty brand Porcelain has revamped and relaunched its skincare line with a meaningful message. The new line is inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi, or golden joinery, which repairs broken ceramics with gold adhesive. Just like how kintsugi masters embrace each pot’s unique cracks through artful restoration, Porcelain’s offerings hope to correct and not conceal skin imperfections.

The range of 21 products has been streamlined to 14 across four ranges: Control (for problem skin); Soothe (for sensitive skin); Plus+ (for anti-ageing); and Essentials, a daily range for all skin types. Certain products were also reformulated to be more soothing to the skin. Prices range from $70 for the Porcelain Essentials Hydro Cleanser to $198 for its best-selling Porcelain Essentials HA+ Hydrating Serum.

Better known for its facial spa brand set up in 2009 by entrepreneur Pauline Ng and her mother, Porcelain debuted its skincare line in 2010. There are three Porcelain Spa outlets here. Porcelain Skincare is available at Porcelain Spas and online at porcelainskin.com, KrisShop, iShopChangi and tangs.com

Porcelain
Tom Ford Emotionproof Eye Primer, $60
image

Give your eye makeup a lasting impression in the literal sense with a slick of Tom Ford’s latest Emotionproof Eye Primer. It’s claimed to lock eyeshadows in place for up to 24 hour hours with a smudge and crease-proof finish that enhances colour vibrancy. In addition to this, its silica ingredient does the trick in creating blurring,soft-focus effect and second-skin texture.

Gucci Beauty Fluide De Beaute Fini Naturel – Natural Finish Fluid Foundation, $100

The lightweight formula is long-wearing and buildable, so you achieve both a second-skin finish and fuller coverage. Either way, blemishes, pores and imperfections are subtly blurred away. It comes in 25 shades.

Gucci
Dior Rouge Dior Satin Balm, $56

The lip balm contains twice the concentration of extracts of the Rouge Dior lipsticks. Red peony, pomegranate and shea butter help soften, nourish and protect the lips, smooth lines, and offer up to 24 hours of hydration.

Dior
Emery & Co. nail wraps, $14.90
image

Nail wraps make for a quick DIY manicure for CNY. We love the huat-inspired designs from the newly launched Emery & Co. that are really easy to apply. Choose the right size for each nail, fit, press on, file away excess, and brush on a top coat. Mine lasted about 12 days. At emeryco.com, krisshop.com and Design Orchard.

Emery & Co.
Chanel Le Lift Lotion, $122

The anti-ageing essence is the final step to cleansing and the first step to skincare. The alfalfa seed concentrate is rich in minerals, trace elements, vitamins and amino acids, which help stimulate collagen production for smoother, firmer skin. The formula contains a magnetic water complex that attracts and retains water deep in the skin for lasting hydration.

Chanel
Derma Lab Age Defy Lipo Firming Serum, $69.90
image

We love its promise: breaking apart excess fat cells, and reducing the volume of fatty tissue in your face. Who wouldn’t want that? The serum is clinically proven to reduce facial fat by 16.8 per cent in eight days, and reduce the look of lines and wrinkles by half, while moisturising, repairing skin and strengthening the skin barrier with kombucha. At Watsons.

Dema Lab
Cartier L’Heure Osee EDT, $390, Pure Rose EDT, $390, and Oud et Pink EDP, $500
image

The brand’s new perfumes are inspired by the different facets of the rose. L’Heure Osee is a bright, daring pop of scent that Cartier calls a “punk rose”. Pure Rose is a “raw rose”, the flower as it is found in nature, bursting with freshness. Oud et Pink is the boldest of the lot – a mix of floral and masculine, pretty yet rugged, and androgynous.

Cartier
Benefit Brow Microfilling Pen, $44
image

Get the look of microbladed brows without worrying about living with results that you may not like. The pen has a three-prong tip that lets you draw ultra-fine strokes, filling in any sparse gaps in your brows. The formula lasts up to 24 hours, so you don’t have to worry about touch-ups. Available in four shades, at Sephora, Lazada and Zalora.
