12 Non-Oily Face Oils To Nourish Even The Greasiest Skin

by MELISSA CHEW  /   September 21, 2017

There’s nothing like a face oil to nourish the skin. In fact, facial oils are the best cures for dehydrated, stressed out, and even sunburnt skin as its reparative qualities are unbeatable. If you’ve got oily skin, it’s understandable that you might be apprehensive about applying an oil on your face.

But fear not, these 12 formulas are oils but they are actually good for your face. Use just a tiny drop, best at night, on a clean face and smooth it on, working it into the skin by massaging with fingertips. Applying a dry oil on your face immediately tells the skin that there’s enough hydration, signalling that sebum production can take a break. Next, skin functions start to normalise and skin healing and rejuvenation kicks in. It’s all good, for anyone’s skin, we promise.

12 Non-Oily Face Oils To Nourish Even The Greasiest Skin
#1: Chanel Huile De Jasmine, $216

A wonderfully refined oil that smoothes onto skin like silk. Use it on its own or add it to a face cream for a richer, more comforting texture. It instantly gives the skin luminosity and helps to plump and smooth fine lines.

#2: Sisley Paris Black Rose Precious Face Oil, $240

Rich in omega 3 and 6 oils to replace the lipids in dry or damaged skin, this oil formula wakes up tired, dull skin immediately. Its dry-touch texture leaves skin satiny, never greasy.

#3: Shiseido Future Solution Lx Replenishing Treatment Oil, $232

Although this oil falls under the brand’s range for more mature skin, it has a surprisingly lightweight texture. It packs an oil blend of evening primrose, jojoba and macadamia seed that also protect skin from environmental damage.

#4: SK-II Facial Treatment Oil, $205 For 50ml

Although this was made for dryer skin types, it’s also great as a sunburn rescue for all skin types. Applying just a tiny drop on oily or combination skin amazingly helps to keep the complexion hydrated without turning greasy the entire day.

#5: Laneige Water Bank Double Layering Oil, $50 For 50ml

A water and oil dual-phase solution that ensures you don’t feel a layer of oil on your skin after application. Use this if you want your pimple scars and blemishes to heal and fade in double time.

#6: La Mer The Renewal Oil, $390 For 30ml

This great-for-skin bi-phase elixir has none other than the brand’s signature Miracle Broth – a skin healing powerhouse that leaves skin looking and feeling revitalised, youthful, smoother and firmer.

#7: Cle De Peau Beaute Radiant Multi Repair Oil, $200

A luxurious multi-purpose oil that can be used on the face, hair and body. On the skin it instantly lifts dullness and makes skin glowy and supple. It feels so lightweight on the skin, it could almost pass off as a water-based serum, but with super-charged supple skin results.

#8: Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Treatment Oil, $79 For 30ml

Not only does this oil revitalise the skin and keep it smooth and healthy, it also refines skin texture thanks to a dose of salicylic acid. So you get all the nourishing benefits plus a boost in cell turnover too.

#9: Estelle & Thild Super Bioactive Reparing Oil Complex, $106

This certified organic, antioxidant rich oil, boasting marine microalgae extracts, is surprisingly weightless on the skin while it revitalises skin from within. It also combats UV damage and helps in skin repair.

#10: Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate, $80 For 30ml

This blend of sunflower, ginger root and tamanu oils leaves skin feeling as happy as its bright yellow bottle suggests. It is packed with antioxidants and also helps your skin to seal all the good ingredients in so that it stays supple.

#11: Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil, $68

Made from 100 percent plant extracts without preservatives, this contains a blend of rosewood, blue orchid and patchouli essential oils that help to moisturise and soften skin. There’s also hazelnut oil to prevent moisture loss and the formation of fine lines.

#12: Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil, $75

An oil primer, now that’s something different! It was of course formulated for dry skin types but no matter your skin type, you’ll want to try it if your usual foundation tends to cake and look crusty by mid-day.
