Associate beauty editor Moh Shuying shares her beauty finds, things she loves and the pretty dresses that caught her eye in S/S ’16.
When it comes to contouring, I’ve always preferred using face luminisers to bronzers, which tend to look too obvious on my fair skin. The highlights also help bring out my (almost non-existent) cheekbones and give my face more definition.
My favourites of the moment: Yves Saint Laurent Beaute Face Palette Collector Gypsy Opale (right, $95), which has added colour-correcting benefits (light green to minimise redness, violet and pink to add brightness, and gold for a soft glow), and Cle de Peau Beaute Luminizing Face Enhancer in #15 (left, $140), which gives a pretty, peachy radiance.
If you’ve been following this space, you’ll know by now that I’m obsessed with facial masks. I’ve sworn by Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque for years (it’s awesome for deep cleansing), so imagine my joy when the brand launched two new ones recently. Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque (left, $49) promises to help strengthen skin’s protective barrier against oxidation, toxins and pollution, while Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque (right, $49) brightens tired complexions for a rosy appearance. My verdict: Go for the former if you want skin to feel immediately hydrated, and the latter for instant smoother, fresher-looking skin.
While most industry insiders consider Fall/Winter the most important season of the year, I personally prefer the prettiness and lightness that comes with Spring/Summer. On my must-have list for S/S ’16: Dior’s handkerchief cotton dress worn over scallop-edged shorts, Chanel’s whimsical knit top and skirt combo that’s decorated with tiny aeroplane prints, and Valentino’s tribalesque mini dress in green and orange. Bye-bye, bank account.
