The Lazy Girl Guide To Looking Like You Have Your Makeup Down Pat

You can thank us later.

by SOFIA KIM  /   September 21, 2018

We get it — mornings are a constant rush, you have no time to do a fancy eyeshadow look and the last thing you’d think about is getting your hair to look good. But you still want to look put together, and these fuss-free makeup trends and products are going to be lifesavers.

The Lazy Girl Guide To Looking Like You Have Your Makeup Down Pat
#1: Coloured lashes
image

It might seem a little intimidating, but it’s one of the easiest ways to look as if you put in a ton of effort to your makeup look. If you’re not the adventurous sort, we recommend using more wearable colours such as blue, burgundy and brown.

#2: Tinted lips
image

First popularised by the South Koreans, this lip tint trick is fuss-free and extremely easy to do. If using a dark lip colour takes too much time (yes, we get how tricky it is at times to make sure it looks clean and precise), apply it only in the inner portion of your puckers. Our tip: opt for a red shade to brighten your complexion.

#3: Just apply blusher
image

And we mean it. It might be a step that’s commonly skipped, but blushers are great to perk up tired complexions and add colour to your overall appearance. How to get the look: dust copious (just don’t overdo it) amounts of blusher with a shade of your choice and you’re done. Easy.

#4: Blow dry your hair
image

Styling your tresses takes time in the morning but the F/W 2018 runways are proving that an effortless ‘do is really all you need to look good. Add in a hydrating serum or oil to ensure your locks look healthy and shiny.

#5: IDS Tinted Sunscreen SPF50, $66
image

Not only does this provide protection from harmful UV rays thanks to marine algae extracts and a host of antioxidants, it also gives light, subtle coverage so your complexion looks fresh and natural. Powered by physical sunscreen agents like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, this is even ideal for those with sensitive skin.

#6: By Terry Nude-Expert Duo Stick, $78
image

This product features two portions: a foundation on one side, and highlighter on the other. The former gives a matte finish that delivers seamless coverage with a blurring filter-like effect to conceal imperfections, while the highlighter portion enhances facial features and imparts a natural glow to your complexion so you don’t have to use a highlighter. The result: a flawless, radiant complexion.

#7: Fresh Vitamin Nectar Antioxidant Glow Water, $69
image

We love multi-use facial mists and this is one we are currently using. It acts as a primer to prolong makeup wear, hydrates, imparts a dewy radiance (thanks to vitamin C) and delivers antioxidant benefits.

#8: Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Blush, $48
image

Its soft and silky gel formula melts onto lips and cheeks to infuse them with a natural veil of pigments. Formulated with the brand’s Hydraboost Complex (it contains a host of vegetable oils) and a coconut derivative, this ensures comfortable wear and also helps plump up puckers.

#9: Dior Lip Sugar Scrub, $48
image

This is an exfoliating and nourishing stick with grains of sugar that scrub of surface dead skin then melts away to nourish dry skin. And as if that’s not impressive enough, it leaves a soft pinkish wash of colour so your lips feel and look smooth, dewy and rosy.
