Want Radiant Skin? Then This Beauty Product Is A Must-Have

by MOH SHUYING  /   November 27, 2017

Want an even-toned, fair complexion? Then a good sunscreen is a must-have. They protect your complexion from harmful UV rays, which not only cause your skin to tan, but also results in dark spots. And if that’s not enough, sunblocks also prevent premature ageing so your complexion stays youthful for longer.

However, in a humid climate like Singapore, an extra skincare step can feel heavy on the skin. So we picked out the best sunscreens that feel weightless and blend effortlessly so you barely feel as if you have anything at all, but still retain a high protection level of protection so you don’t have to worry about sun damage or dark spots.

Want Radiant Skin? Then This Beauty Product Is A Must-Have
#1: Shiseido Perfect UV Protector Hydrofresh SPF50+/PA++++, $60

When the going gets tough (read: wetter), the protection strength of the refreshing gel-textured sunscreen goes up almost 24 per cent. How it works: The negative ions in its formulation attract and bond with minerals in water and perspiration (the positive ions), creating a stronger and tighter layer that’s better able to protect against the rays.

#2: Lancome UV Expert Youth Shield Milky Bright SPF50/PA++++, $75

This works on both the inner and deeper layers of skin. For the inner layers of your skin, it has pure vitamin E and rose extracts that provide antioxidation, anti-inflammation and soothing benefits. On the surface, its moringa extract supposedly provides an anti-adhesion and anti-penetration effect to ward off pollution particles.

#3: Sulwhasoo Snowise Brightening UV Protector SPF50+/PA++++, $92

If you want fair skin fast, then this nourishing sunscreen is a must-have. It comes in two shades: Soft Glow (for natural radiance) and Soft Peach (it leaves a soft, rosy glow). Both contain white cloud grass extract that supposedly reduces dullness.

#4: Elizabeth Arden Prevage City Smart Broad Spectrum SPF50 Hydrating Shield SPF50/PA++++, $99

This lightweight sunscreen not only forms an invisible barrier to prevent harmful toxins and pollution particles from coming into contact with skin, it also has amino acid and ferulic acid to neutralise free radical damage and enzymes from plankton and ocean bacteria extract to fight oxidative stress.

#5: La Prairie Cellular Swiss UV Protection Veil SPF50, $305
image

This is infused with Noble Edelweiss extract, to fight age-inducing UV-exposure and protect against external stress factors, as well as a licorice-based herbal ingredient to brighten skin. Together, it works to inhibit melanin production, improve skin clarity, hydrate, reduce dullness and even skin tone.

#6: Anessa Essence UV Sunscreen Aqua Booster, $39.90, Watsons

This ultra-lightweight, water-resistant provides longlasting protecting. It uses a Photo Stamina Technology by supposedly stopping the breakdown of sunscreen agents by converting the energy from UV rays into harmless light and heat and release them. It also has Bulgarian rose essence, hyaluronic acid, angelica extract, turmeric extract and vitamin C to nourish, brighten and hydrate skin.

#7: Shu Uemura Stage Performer Block:Booster SPF50/PA+++, $65
image

This contains a hybrid UV shield that protects skin from sunburn-inducing UVB rays and deeply-penetrating UVA rays, prevents pollution from adhering to skin and has lily extract to hydrate and fight inflammation.

#8: Supergoop! Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF50, $42, Sephora

This gives you the benefits of both a makeup setting spray as well as a refreshing afternoon pick-me-up, but with the added benefit of UV protection. A Multi-tasking 3-in-1, it delivers broad spectrum SPF 50 protection with a matte finish, and contains optical diffusing silica silylate to control oil, reduce shine and deliver a matte finish. Antioxidant-rich rosemary and mint also help to fight free radical damage.

#9: Chanel UV Essential Gel-Creme SPF50/PA+++, $87

This fresh, lightweight sunscreen acts like an anti-pollution shield. It also has an exclusive skin protection complex that is said to safeguard the integrity and function of the stem cells to reinforce skin’s barrier function.

Like this? Check out the ultra-hydrating moisturisers to take on your winter holiday, the best limited edition beauty kits and coffrets to get and the pink makeup even cool girls will love.
