10 Skincare Heroes From Sephora’s Fall Collection That We Need For Our Pandemic Beauty Regimen

From an all-new “virtual foundation” to a hydrating priming oil, we school you in on our top picks from Sephora’s Fall 2020 launches.

by SOFIA KIM  /   September 20, 2020

It is a tradition for the beauty giant to roll out some of the coolest makeup and skincare launches during the Spring and Fall seasons, and the current pandemic has not stopped it from launching the most innovative and effective beauty products. However, the brand has stepped up its efforts to ensure safety within its physical stores by implementing a range of measures.

Firstly, it offers a Text & Collect service where gold and black card members can simply Whatsapp (the number’s 8167-1844) their orders and collect them directly at the Ion Orchard store. To lessen social interaction, customers can also scan a product’s bar code to get a full list of information.

Lastly, Sephora has introduced a safe and easy way for customers to do shade matching in stores, without touching any of the product testers. The beauty advisers will pick out three shades that are closest to your skin tone before swatching them on a clear, plastic sheet.

Customers can then hold up the sheet with the foundation swatches to their faces to pick out the one that best suits them. Do note that both brand ambassadors and customers will not be allowed to remove their masks during the entire process.

With all that sorted, we pick out 10 products we that we are looking forward to trying from its Fall launch.

10 Skincare Heroes From Sephora's Fall Collection That We Need For Our Pandemic Beauty Regimen
Dr Jart Cicapair Sleepair Ampoule-in Mask, $66

Our skin shifts into a regenerative and receptive mode while we snooze. This means that our skin cells better renew themselves in the evening when skin temperature and microcirculation increases, which makes it more receptive to nourishment and active ingredients. Since many of us lack sufficient sleep, our skin often looks tired, dull and is easily sensitised. To combat that, this ampoule-in-mask treatment is fortified with a Fusitive Technology and bamboo vinegar to soothe, repair and restore fatigued complexions. The result: skin feels plump, appears more radiant and refreshed, and feels smoother the morning after.

Becca Zero No Pigment Virtual Foundation, $58
image

Not a fan of applying a layer of foundation while putting on a surgical face mask? Opt for this skin-smoothening treatment, which aims to blur imperfections and even out skin tone. This makeup and skincare hybrid utilises a Clear Light Blur Technology to manipulate light for a smooth complexion. Hyaluronic acid then hydrates while controlling excess sebum for a soft matte finish.

Pixi C Vitamin Priming Oil, $43

When skin is well prepped and hydrated, makeup goes on smoothly and easily. To achieve that, opt for this priming oil which contains three key ingredients – vitamin C, carrot oil and turmeric – to hydrate, protect and boost skin’s luminosity. Plus, it has a lightweight texture that is fast-absorbing so your skin won’t feel sticky or tacky post-application.

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Ultra Fine Mist, $43
image

This hotly anticipated face mist hydrates and preps the skin for makeup application. It is formulated with 84 per cent watermelon extract and watermelon seed oil so skin is instantly refreshed and soothed. Hibiscus flower, which contains natural AHAs, gently sloughs away dead skin cells while apple cider vinegar balances oil production. And if that is not impressive enough, rice germ oil works to protect the skin against free radical damage. Bonus: it really smells like watermelony.

Briogeo Be Gentle Be Kind Avocado + Kiwi Mega Moisture Superfood Mask, $55
image

Inspired by superfoods, this nourishing hair mask is made with a host of phytonutrients like avocado, kiwi, spinach, chia seeds and cocoa seed butter to help restore, maintain, and lock in moisture. It is also ideal for all hair types and is packed with flavonoids and antioxidants that are crucial for overall hair health.

Wishful Thirst Trap Cocoon Mask, $15 for a sheet
image

The sister brand of Huda Beauty has just launched an intensive hydrating sheet mask that is made up of a double layer fibre to increase the rate of absorption of active ingredients into the skin. A potent blend of hollyhock rose extract, sodium hyaluronate and aloe vera work to deliver immense moisture to the skin so complexion looks plumper, feels softer and is more radiant.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Stain, $29
image

To avoid any transfer of lipstick onto your mask, it is important to use a lippie that stains your puckers, feels weightless and offers a vibrant and intense colour payoff. This does exactly that thanks to a rich matte pigment that stains lips and is enriched with sodium hyaluronate and glycerin for all day hydration.

Tatcha Rice Wash, $61
image

With a pH-neutral amino acid base, this purifying daily cream cleanser transforms into a gentle foam that washes away impurities without stripping the skin. Japanese rice powder naturally softens and boosts the skin’s luminosity while moisture-binding Okinawa red algae and ceramide-rich Japanese brown algae work synergistically with hyaluronic acid to replenish lost moisture.

Farmacy Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum, $69
image

This is powered by four different types of vitamin C and hyaluronic acid each to lighten the appearance of dark spots; even out skin tone; plump up lines and wrinkles; and hydrates skin. Sacha inchi peptide is also infused into the formula to tackle loose, sagging skin.

Indie Lee I-Waken Resurfacing Mask, $70

Dull and rough complexions are common skin concerns many of us face thanks to our hectic and stressed lifestyles. This wash-off mask aims to combat such signs by gently exfoliating the skin with a combination of vitamin C-rich Java plum, mango and banana extracts. Kaolin and bentonite clays then unclog pores and absorb excess sebum while jasmine and burdock root extracts work to deliver optimum moisture for supple, smooth and luminous skin.
