These Sheet Masks Will Give Skin A Radiant Glow Before A Big Night Out

by ALYSSA DHALIWAL  /   December 16, 2016

No time to head out for a facial before a special occasion? These skincare masks will make the biggest difference to your skin in just 10 to 20 minutes.

These Sheet Masks Will Give Skin A Radiant Glow Before A Big Night Out
#1: 111Skin Bio Cellulose Facial Treatment Mask, US$167 (S$241), for 5 sheets, www.net-a-porter.com
image

If you read my review on this back in May, you’ll know how impressed I was by this sheet mask. Sure, it’s incredibly pricey, but it really does feel like you’ve had a facial after the 20 minutes are up. For starters, 111skin is a line developed by a plastic surgeon named Dr. Alexandrides MD, whose goal was to design a skincare range that would help his patients heal better after cosmetic procedures. At about S$230 for the box, the sheet masks come up to almost $50 per pop, and that doesn’t include shipping.

What are you coughing up the cash for? Well, this Bio Cellulose Facial Treatment Mask contains arbutin that’s meant to brighten your complexion; silk amino acids to moisturise and nourish the skin; as well as an herb called centella asiatica to stimulate collagen production.

#2: Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery PowerFoil Mask, $120 for 4 pieces
image

If the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair is one of your holy grail skincare products, then you’ll want to try this mask. The Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery PowerFoil Mask is a high-performance mask that uses a new “PowerFoil technology”, meaning the sheet mask has two layers to it. The inner layer is what contains and releases the concentrated treatment while the outer foil forms a cocoon of sorts to enhance penetration and acts as a protective barrier.

Definitely more of a splurge for special occasions, this mask is said to contain nearly half a bottle’s worth of Advanced Night Repair’s exclusive ChronoluxCB. This peptide contains ingredients that help promote the skin’s cellular purification processes while you sleep, and really, who doesn’t want to sleep their way to better skin?

#3: Peter Thomas Roth Un-wrinkle 24k Gold Intense Wrinkle Sheet Mask , $127 for 6 sheets
image

Sure, there’s some seriously fancy gold in this mask which means it’ll give you some amazing party prep selfies, but there are also loads of peptides and active anti-ageing ingredients that will give your skin a boost of youth to tackle concerns like fine lines and wrinkles. As for all that gold? The 24k gold supposedly provides anti-inflammatory benefits. It’s also a great option before a big party as the mask leaves behind tiny gold particles after which is a perfect starting point for your radiant party makeup looks.

#4: SK-II Facial Treatment Mask, $127 for 6 pieces
image

The wonders of SK-II’s Pitera complex are no beauty secret. Everyday women and celebrities alike have been raving about the “miracle” for years. While it might seem excessive to spend that much on just six pieces when you can purchase an entire bottle of the treatment essence, the mask comes generously soaked in the brand’s famed Pitera yeast extract, as well as a mix of vitamins, minerals and amino acids.

The result? Skin that’s so well hydrated it looks like it’s quite literally glowing from within. Make sure you don’t waste any of the Pitera complex in the mask, so massage it in everywhere you can instead of throwing it away! It’ll make your skin feel incredibly soft to the touch as well.

#5: Verso Intense Facial Mask, $135 for 4 sheets, Escentials
image

I love Verso for its clean minimalist packaging and potent ingredients. This one is a cooling sheet mask that not only helps us to relax, but also helps to plump, renew and hydrate worn-out skin. The hydrogel mask is packed with anti-ageing ingredients like retinol 8 – a vitamin A derivative said to be more potent but gentler than conventional retinol – plus a blend of skin soothing and reparative ingredients like centella asiatica, canola oil and ceramide. Together, these ingredients promise to moisturise and stimulate collagen production to make your skin appear firmer and brighter.

#6: For Beloved One Melasleep Whitening Bio-Cellulose Mask, $63 for 3 sheets, Sephora
image

If you’ve yet to try For Beloved One products, you really should get your hands on something. The brand’s Hyaluronic Acid Moisturising Surge Cream got me through a rough skin patch just by giving my skin some really intense but soothing hydration. The Melasleep range is dedicated to brightening, and this mask in particular can even help with dehydration and blemishes. I love bio-cellulose masks in general too because they really feel like second skin that just clings to your face, making it easier to move about and do things while the mask does its work.
