These Face Powders Will Keep Your Complexion Matte And Shine-Free
#1: Cle de Peau Beaute Translucent Loose Powder, $180
image

I’m obsessed with this breathtakingly beautiful blue pot, which holds one of the plushest powders I’ve ever had the pleasure of encountering.

The recently reformulation is softer and silkier than  before – no creasing or cakiness! – and the carefully calibrated concoction of colour-free pigments makes this one of a precious few powders capable of b reaching life and light into my skin.

Stash this in your cubicle for touch-ups on the go – a quick dusting down your T-Zone is fantastic for squelching shine and fending off signs of fatigue when you’ve been pulling all-nighters in the office. Three words: Check it out!

#2: Dior Diorskin Forever & Ever Control Loose Powder in 001, $80
image

This gloriously glossy navy tube is a treasure trove of the finest powders amped up with sebum-stopping skincare ingredients to lend the most lovely luminousity to your complexion, sans slickness or shine.

Also noteworthy is the thoughtful inclusion of a mesh that serves as a sieve so that just the right amount of powder is dispensed and deposited when you pick it up with the perfectly plush kabuki brush – waste not, want not.

#3: Yves Saint Laurent Beaute Poudre Compact Radiance Perfection Universelle, $70
image

Mm, this is Parisian perfection in a purse. How so? Think about it: All that sidewalk sashaying we do in sweltering Singapore means you need a foundation fixer that’s sort of like the Goldilocks of makeup – sheer enough to read as “real” skin, yet sturdy enough to hold up to snuff until you’ve stumbled back into bed. And this beauty buy, my friends, boasts both qualities in spades.

Even more intriguing is this powder’s uncanny knack for reading as radiant in person; no small feat for something that purports to squelch shine as well. And yes, it makes good on the latter promise as well: My “kwali” complexion was comfortably satiny after a havoc night out cavorting in a club.

Finally, honorary mention must bo to the picture-perfecr presentation. The ritzy receptacle this powder comes in is heart-stompingly pretty, and is yet another instance of the thoughtful little touches this F-Beauty brand is justifiably renowned for. Powder up in the powder room – whip out your equally covetable cushion while you’re at it as well – then watch your girlfriends go green-eyed in envy.

#4: Cosme Decorte AQMW Loose Powder Compact in 001, $170
image

Posh packaging aside, this covetable compact is beautifully blendable thanks to an infusion  of moisture magnets ad finely milled soft-focus powders, which sort of fuses into my skin without pooling into my pores.

What I really love about this product, though, is the incredible incandescence it lends my skin – the hint of a tint is fabulously flattering if you’re gunning for the nude and nubile K-Beauty look. Will repurchase the is a heartbeat!

#5: Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder, $62
image

Indulging in some social media spam with your #bae? This baby should snag you the patch-free and picture-perfect skin worthy of an Instagram #CelebCouple on the calibre of say, Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid.

Clearly targeted at tech-savvy young’uns, this camera-friendly perfecto promises skin that’ll pass the strict scrutiny of “high-definition” smartphone screens. Even better, i’ve discovered that your face stays matter, not flat, thanks to the skin-friendly silicas in the translucent formula. Oh, and you can expect your potions and lotions to be locked in place with this powder – in my case, a good eight hours of wear that did away with the need for reapplication. Indeed I slapped this on before a sweaty sundown soiree and saw no need for mid-party touch-up’s.

Right, then. Made your choice? Congrats on successfully scoring the finishing flair to the “foundation” of your makeup regime, and #HappyShopping!
