Just when we thought Shu Uemura’s makeup collaboration with effortlessly cool French brand Maison Kitsune couldn’t be topped, the beauty brand has announced its next tie-up: With Korean fashion label Kye. Known for its streetwear-meets-pop designs, the five-year-old brand has showed at New York Fashion Week, and its pieces have been worn by trend-setting stars like Rihanna.
For this collaboration, the cute packaging – designer Kathleen Kye’s handiwork – features symbols of Korean culture, from coffee cups to alarm clocks bearing the time 5:10am (a jibe at workaholic Koreans). Get a sneak peek at the collection here – it launches exclusively at Sephora Ion Orchard on Apr 14 and in Shu Uemura boutiques from May 1. By Isabel Ong.
