Weather experts might try to reassure us that we’re not going through a heatwave now, but it sure feels like it. The sun is fiercely out and high summer is, for all intents and purposes, absolutely here. To that end, a slate of summer-ready beauty launches to make your days a little more bearable. From Chanel’s upsized edition of its Les Beiges healthy glow line to Dior’s limited edition French riviera-chic twist on its high-end perfumes.

Les Beiges is Chanel’s hero summer line. The look of the collection is that of a healthy, sun-kissed glow. This year’s edition includes two upsized versions of its popular pressed powders ($122, available in two shades). Build it up as a bronzer, or dust thinly as a setting powder that gives a rosy finish – all possible with a special new upsized kabuki brush ($84) to match. Also new this year: a dry oil for face, body and hair ($132) – with soft copper and gold shimmer to give a subtle enhancing touch, and a loose powder ($90) that imparts a glowing, radiant finish.
Chanel’s Les Beiges Summer In Grand Style collection is available from the Chanel Beauty e-shop, boutiques and counters from June 2
The high-end La Collection Privee line of perfumes from Dior is getting the fashion brand’s summertime Dioriviera treatment this season. Four of its lightest and freshest scents – aquatic Eden Roc, figgy Balade Sauvage, heady Jasmin des Anges, and powdery Bois d’argent – are getting special packaging. This includes cases with beachy Bayadere stripes where the interiors are decorated with the house’s Toile de Jouy print. Besides the perfumes themselves, there’s also a refillable travel perfume case ($185) and an Eden Roc-scented candle ($143) in a specially designed unglazed ceramic jar.
La Collection Privee Dioriviera fragrances start from $180 for 40ml, and the collection is available from 30 May on the brand’s online shop, and June 1 at the La Collection Privee Christian Dior boutique in Ion Orchard
Shu Uemura’s brow makeup are top tier products. The popular twist-up Brow Sword is getting an update that builds on the sword-like way that brand shaves the tips of its popular Hard Formula brow pencils into. This thin edge gives the product a narrow and precise tip which makes filling in brows a controlled breeze. The Brow Sword Naginata comes in five shades that range from auburn to grey that matches easily with one’s natural hair colour. It’s also been formulated to be waterproof; sweat-, smudge-, and sebum-resistant, with a promised wear time of 16 hours – perfect for the heat these days.
Shu Uemura’s Brow Sword Naginata ($55) is available from May 24 at the brand’s standalone boutiques, department store counters and its official online flagship store on LazMall
