Opulent details – from gilded flower stands to crystal chandeliers, elaborate flower arrangements, as well as a stunning wedding wardrobe made this celebration one to remember. Bride Wan Ting tells us:
Our wedding day was possibly the biggest party we will ever plan for ourselves in our lifetime! It was a celebration with our nearest and dearest, as we wanted them to join us as we officially committed ourselves to one another for life.
We wanted an outdoor garden wedding right from the start, and the Alkaff Mansion checked all the right boxes for our solemnisation ceremony in the morning, and lunch reception. We had a white colour palette tinged with romantic lilac accents. For dinner, we opted for a romantic and elegant theme, which is why we were set on having the banquet at The St. Regis Singapore, for its opulent settings.
Our florist and stylist, Hari from Boenga took our breath away with the final result: a 3-D gazebo that was built onstage, crystal chandeliers, lush flower arrangements and our wedding monogram as part of the stage decor. The stage itself was bathed in purple lights, which was very romantic and set the mood for our nuptials.
To us, the most emotional and romantic moment has got to be when we were exchanging our personally-written vows. Reciting them under the beautiful gazebo at Alkaff Mansion will forever be etched in our minds and engraved in our hearts. To us, it is our first promise to one another as we enter into a new life together.
Another highlight for us, was letting guests in on our photo shoot, which we took in Budapest, Hungary (they loved it!). We also replaced the second march-in with a dance party with our bridal party (which comprised 20 in number) to Justin Timberlake’s Can’t Stop This Feeling. The night ended on a high note with a dessert buffet and an after-party in the ballroom with a live band, and many of our guests ended up going on stage to join them!
We couldn’t get enough of our pre-wedding photoshoot! Our photographer, Joe, who captured every single beauty of our outfits and the majestic city, simply nailed it. Our actual day photos by Alwin, were stunning too. Alwin captured many lovely spontaneous shots of us during the wedding, and we loved it.
