Olivia Sie & Kevin Lim’s formal black-tie wedding was a glamorous affair with a black and gold theme. She tells us:
Our wedding day was probably my husband’s biggest birthday party ever. He proposed on my birthday in June 2010, and we tie the knot on his birthday in September in 2015. It was a significant occasion for us and many of our guests who had been with us all the way. We were first friends in primary school, but lost touch after graduation. We subsequently reconnected during our primary school alumni gathering in 2009. We got together shortly afterwards. We had a classic black-tie only theme, with mostly black and gold decor. We also had a mix of round and long tables for our 330 guests who, at our request, made donations to Save Our Street Dogs Singapore instead of taking home favours. Our dogs Pepper and Brownie walked down the aisle with us for the solemnisation. Our first entrance to the reception was to Pachelbel’s Canon in D played by a live orchestra.
That’s also when we performed our first waltz. Our second entrance was more dramatic; we were accompanied by waiters carrying Dom Perignon champagne and sparklers. Everything was just magical! We have so many memories that we cherish – from the pre-wedding shoots in Santorini, Greece, to having our two dogs with us at our wedding.
