Plans to hold the Beach Beats Fest may have been cancelled, but that only means one thing: Something better is coming. Enter We The Citizens Fest, a one-day-only party at Zouk’s Jiak Kim Street digs.
Featuring a talent-packed music line-up of local and international acts happening at Zouk’s main room, Velvet Underground and Phuture, the festival joins a line-up of hip music festivals taking place around the world in the second half of 2016. Below, all the reasons why you can’t miss it.
The Zouk mainroom will see familiar Zouk resident DJs Lincey and Zushan helming the decks. Over at Velvet Underground’s Dance area, hip-hop maestro LeNerd Drem (Matteblacc) and EDM expert Rah (Darker Than Wax) will be spinning, while the Lounge will host up-and-coming local talent.
Besides UK superstar DJ Mark Ronson, the other headliners promised initially for Beach Beats Feats remain, so expect soul, tropical funk and dance-worthy tunes from the likes of Hayden James, Sam Feldt and Ta-Ku.
Phuture will be transformed into an intimate movie screening space for showcasing popular homegrown flicks.
Join Mambo Jambo night on Aug 8 for a special rendition of classic anthems, or take part in a red and white-themed TGIW party on Aug 10.
While entry tickets to the Zouk main room will be priced at $51, entry to Velvet Underground – Dance and Phuture will be free. What more reason do you need to break out the party shoes?
We The Citizens Fest will be held on August 9, 1pm-11pm at Zouk Singapore. Book tickets here.
