How do you follow up with the pumped-up parties that took place in Singapore throughout January? The answer lies in a diverse line-up of banger events curated by both emerging music/nightlife collectives who are building a rep for fielding experimental tunes on the dance floor, as well as well-loved veteran party organisers. Scroll on for more.
Since its inception in June 2022, techno collective Modal have been throwing parties that go big on off-kilter beats and experimental tunes. Its first three parties, Mode01 and subsequently Mode02 and Mode03, broke pre-conceived notions of what techno is expected to be – with a repertoire that goes from deep, hypnotic synths to cutting-edge, raw industrial soundscapes. The next one at Iki By Ikigai at 20 Upper Circular Road is all about girl power, with an all-female lineup of DJs ready to dish out some hard-hitting bangers. Alongside local DJ Bella’s high-energy beats, there will be acts by rising international DJ Aya, who is known for her techno and psytrance parties in the US and Japan, as well as up-and-coming local DJ Vix, whose esoteric sets range from hard techno to UK funky.

This time, the iconic event takes place in one of the collective’s favourite hangouts Moonstone Bar at 103 Amoy Street – a perfect location for a wild night of vibing and dancing.
