At the risk of sounding painfully first-world, the Internet’s practically a necessity now. That’s why we love our public Wi-Fi. All the better if it comes with food – like in these cafes!
This homely cafe isn’t big, so it;s easy to find calm in the sound of clinking cups and gurgling coffee machines in the background. Be sure to get here in time for brunch – we love their hei Amigo (pictured), their brunchy take on Huevos Rancheros, a harmony of chorizo sausage, scrambled eggs on tortilla.

In a perfect world, every day of work should be like this. Kick back by the water’s edge and savour the breeze and perhaps the booze, if you prefer that over a cup of joe. Their menu is simple but it certainly satisfies, offering all-day breakfast, burgers, stone-baked pizzas, cakes and more.

Sat along the tranquil riverside of Robertson Quay, we love the sense of liberation we get from whiling the hours away at this Melbournian cafe. Their speciality coffees are made from beans sourced from Yemen, Panama and more; get some finger food if you’re planning to stay for the day – we’re thinking shoestring fries.

This two-storey shophouse cafe is divided into four differently furnished spaces, each with its own charm – the vibrant bar, homely lawn, an airy, white-washed attic, and a charming alfresco balcony. Whether you’re planning to power through an afternoon of work or have a laidback brunch date, this place is it. Plus, a maple sea salt cheesecake (pictured) from heaven that we still dream about today.

This famous Hong Kong coffee chain is crowned one of the “25 coffee shops around the world you need to visit before you die”. And for the good reason – their coffees sport some serious personalities. If the sexy nitro cold brew coffee apparatus doesn’t tempt you into getting a cuppa, try the unique Espresso Tonic – tonic water and espresso served iced. On the food front, we particularly love that trending local flavours are incorporated into classic desserts from orh nee (yam paste) waffles to salted egg yolk custard french toast.

Adorable hand-drawn graphics of Sir Antonio, the cafe’s well-loved mascot adorn the walls of this cheeky place. The menu of savoury fare and light bites reads well, but no prizes for guessing that everyone’s here for the handmade tiramisu of about 12 exciting flavours, from lemon lavender to matcha.

If you’re planning to spend an entire day here, the finger food won’t disappoint, from usual suspects like Potato Fries to Smoked Turkey Ham & Cheese Croquettes. On the drinks front, we fancy their cocktails as much as their coffees – so you decide!

Long communal tables are spread out in this spacey, unpretentious cafe, making it a conducive place to get some work done or have a group meeting. Try the Smoked Duck Pizza or the Beef Brisket Pasta, and one of their tall cakes to finish.

Muji’s new cafe exudes the same minimalistic, clean vibes of its retail store – it’s woody tones setting you in a peaceful state of mind. All while you tuck into a meal of seasonal, natural ingredients “full of blessings from the sun, soil and water”. Sounds promising to us!
#02-020/22 Raffles City Shopping Centre, Singapore 179101
All cakes were created glorious, but some more so than others. Case in point: THIS rose-scented Ispahan cake. Butter Studio is equal parts homely and enchanting, as are their cakes and pastries, from cupcakes to tarts and more. Just don’t get too much of a sugar high if you’re going to spend the afternoon here. Or do – your call.
