The clue that this 99-room hotel is owned by the former ABBA legend? A copy of the band’s greatest hits in every room. Take a chance on it for its on-site bakery, restored cinema and easy access to the beautiful square of Mariatorget.

One of the first cattle dairies in the United States, this 31-room farmhouse ranch dates back to the 19th-century and was restored by the Dirty Harry star 30 years ago. Set in the heart of Westchester Country in New York state, the Pretty Woman star’s hotel is a popular wedding venue and dates back to the 1860s. He lives in the neighbourhood, so don’t be surprised to see him popping in.

Set on South Shore, this luxury escape of suites and cottages from Hollywood’s premier power couple is undergoing a reboot and will reopen next year. It’s not just a flash, spur-of-the-moment purchase either; the property has been in Douglas’ family since the 1840s.
