The Coco Crush Jewellery Line From Chanel Gets A Fun, Functional And Fancy Update

by NOELLE LOH  /   August 3, 2017

Like the French label’s iconic 2.55 handbag, Chanel Fine Jewellery’s Coco Crush line has always been as much about making a personal statement as it has been about appealing to everyday needs. Two years ago, it debuted as a concise yet well-thought-out range: one solid cuff and four rings that could be stacked or worn as pendants, in white or yellow gold.

Each was carved with one of the most discreet yet recognisable motifs in luxury fashion: the quilted matelasse pattern that anchors the 2.55 handbag.  Last year was when the collection ramped up the glamour, and by that we mean the same white and yellow gold bands with a sprinkling of diamonds (31 on the small and 53 on the medium, to be exact).

Also added was another duo of white gold rings with full pave diamonds and trendy cuffs with a diamond-studded lion symbol, a nod to Chanel’s Leo star sign. For something more understated, the brand also introduced rings in plain 18K beige gold — meant to be a cooler alternative to the usual gold varieties. The alloy finish is subtler than yellow and more modern than rose. In other words, it’s a cinch to match.

Now, the range enters its third year and undergoes its most playful expansion. Over the next few pages, we highlight what these new updates are.

This feature is brought to you in collaboration with Chanel Fine Jewellery.

#1: There are memento-style bracelets

Besides tricking out 2016’s beige gold rings with diamonds, the label has rolled out elegant skinny bracelets, not unlike those often used to commemorate milestones.

#2: There are clip-on earrings now

New to the line: Two clip-ons — one in yellow gold and another in white gold with diamonds — in the form of smal hoops. What this means is that they can be worn anywhere along the years (yep, no piercings needed).

#3: The diamond rings get a beige gold treatment

Chanel’s trademark beige gold lands on two bands in an S and M size. Each comes with 31 and 53 diamonds respectively.

#4: There's a set of hybrid earrings in the mix

Another new addition to the Coco Crush earrings series doubles the styling potential. This clip-on style features an asymmetrical pair made up of one dainty loop, and a tough-chic, three-tiered ear cuff.
