The Best Food Combinations For Double The Health Benefits
#1: Green tea and lemon

The next time you drink green tea, squeeze some fresh lemon inside. This pair will help to enhance the antioxidants your body absorbs. Green tea is rich in an antioxidant known as Catechin, which breaks down quickly in non-acidic environments (like your body). By adding a dash of lemon juice, your body will be able to enjoy more of the antioxidant’s benefits.

#2: Banana and yogurt

This dynamic duo makes an excellent post workout meal. Pairing carbohydrate (banana) and protein (yogurt) help to effectively replenish your blood sugar levels and aid in muscle recovery. Add sliced bananas to your yogurt or blend them into a refreshing smoothie.

#3: Almonds and greens

Leafy greens are great for boosting your immune system and reducing your risk of heart disease and cancer. However, for your body to reap the most benefits, it’ll need the presence of monounsaturated fats (which almonds are rich in). So maybe it’s time to make almonds your go-to salad topping.

#4: Beef and orange juice

If you ever need an iron fix, we all know beef is definitely one of the top on the list. But, to help your body better absorb the iron, it’s best to pair it with foods rich in vitamin C (like orange juice). The next time you eat steak, you know what’s the best drink to pair it with.

#5: Salad and olive oil

Forget the fat-free dressings the next time you order a salad. Having some healthy fats in your salad actually helps to improve the benefits you’ll absorb from the veggies. Try drizzling your salad with a vinegar and olive oil dressing.
