The first-ever Marni Flower Cafe, a 538 sq ft concept store that offers everything from food to accessories and homewares, has opened its doors in Osaka, Japan on the third floor of Umeda Hankyu Department Store. Isabel Ong tells you why it’s a must-visit.
The small tables are made of brass and green marble, and there is also a plush sofa for you to while away the time at.
After all, it’s conveniently located within a department store. For sustenance, the cafe space serves snacks like focaccia bread, Italian pastries and freshly pressed juices.
Products are specially created for the store, which will change its overall theme every four months. Out now: wooden lunchboxes, colourful furoshiki (Japanese wrapping cloths), floral print bags, PVC vases and a porcelain set decorated with designs from the Marni archive.
No word yet on what varieties will be stocked, but you can definitely look forward to picking up fresh blooms for the home or office while you shop. The best bit: More Marni Flower Cafes are slated to open across Japan.
