It’s never too early to start shopping for mooncakes – however, with so many different versions and new flavours, it can be hard to choose. Below, we’ve helped you narrow down your choices by rounding up the best mooncakes you should get this Mid-Autumn Festival:

#1: Bakerzin

For this year, the home-grown brand has a whopping eight different collections of mooncakes available, from liquor-infused snowskin mooncakes to a whole collection featuring roasted black sesame. The star pick, however, is the brand new Bold collection (pictured) which is limited to 500 boxes only – highlights include the tom yum and sakura ebi flavours.

Available from 7 Aug onwards. Prices range from $56 to $70

#2: Carlton Hotel

New to the popular snowskin creations at Carlton Hotel this year is the Mini Tuxedo Snowskin Mooncake (pictured) which is made up of rich Valrhona chocolate sponge cake, crunchy chocolate balls and light cream. Other signatures such as the durian and red velvet snowskin mooncakes are also available, along with healthier, low sugar options as well as traditional favourites.

Available from 4 Sept onwards. Prices range from $60 to $68

#3: Dean & Deluca

For the third year running, the popular F&B outlet has its range of traditional mooncakes on offer. Four flavours are available – the White Lotus Macadamia is a combination of sweet white lotus paste and macadamias, while the Single and Double Yolk flavours balances the sweet lotus paste with salted egg yolk. Lastly, the Macadamia Walnut presents a Western spin with its premium maple syrup and walnuts.

Available from 4 Sept onwards. Prices range from $68 to $72

 

 

#4: The Fullerton Hotel Singapore

The luxury hotel has four new flavours inspired by local tastes this year. New to the snowskin collection is the Kopi with Salted Hokkaido Milk as well as the Tangerine Lemon and Pistachio – the latter is reminiscent of tart lemon biscuits from years past. Meanwhile, Pandan with Coconut and Salted Taro with Peanut Butter are new additions to the traditional baked mooncakes.

Available from 18 Aug onwards. Prices range from $60 to $189

#5: Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium

The hotel’s Xin Cuisine Chinese Restaurant has several traditional, classic mooncakes as well as snowskin creations available this year. The standouts, however, are the two new low sugar snowskin flavours that are perfect for the health-conscious – the Red Lotus Seed Paste with Peanut Praline, as well as the White Lotus Seed Paste with Banana Apricot Praline.

Available from 4 Sept onwards. Prices range from $56 to $72

#6: Mandarin Oriental

Cherry Garden, the luxury hotel’s Cantonese restaurant, has an exquisite lineup of mooncakes this Mid-Autumn Festival. Look out for the Pandan with Dried Cherries and Pistachio traditional mooncake that is inspired by our national cake, plus three new flavours in the premium snowskin range, such as the Passionfruit Paste and Pistachio as well as the Osmanthus and Walnut.

Available from 10 Aug onwards. Prices range from $34 to $78

#7: Pan Pacific Singapore

The hotel’s Cantonese restaurant, Hai Tien Lo, has an ensemble of seven traditional mooncakes available this year. New flavours include the Pandan Paste with Single Yolk, as well as the Caramel with White Lotus Paste Single Yolk. Meanwhile, those who want something less indulgent can go for the Low Sugar Purple Sweet Potato with White Lotus Paste Single Yolk.

Available from 7 Aug onwards. Prices range from $62 to $78

#8: Peony Jade

Amongst the five new flavours available, the standout is definitely the limited-edition Flaky Teochew ‘Orh Ni’ with Molten Lava Salted Egg Yolk traditional mooncake, though the Baked Mini ‘Milo Dinosaur’, filled with Milo crème diplomat and feuilletine, is a close second. Meanwhile, the Prosperous Piggies with Silver Lotus Paste and Egg Yolk Custard snowskin mooncake is almost too cute to eat.

Available from 31 Aug onwards. Prices range from $45 to $75

#9: Raffles Singapore

The hotel continues with its popular mooncake collection, this time with a mix of perennial favourites and brand new flavours. A highlight from the latter is the new Strawberry Yoghurt and Crunchy White Chocolate Pearl Snow-Skin Mooncake (pictured) which will satisfy any sweet tooth, while the Champagne Truffle and Ganache Snow-Skin Mooncake is a luxurious treat.

Available from 20 Aug onwards. Prices range from $70 to $72

#10: TWG Tea

Tea lovers, rejoice: box sets including two mooncakes paired with Lotus Jade Tea is available at the home-grown brand. Opt for the new snowskin flavours, such as the jade green Moonlight featuring a Lotus Jade Tea infused mousseline, or the orange Blossom featuring a Geisha Blossom Tea infused mousseline. For something more savoury, tea-infused traditional mooncakes are also on the menu.

Available from 31 Aug onwards. Prices range from $16 to $70
