For those happy to stay home, we highly recommend Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story, a tender, bittersweet look at how a marriage falls apart. It’s one of the year’s best movies (IMO), complete with superb acting, casting and writing, starring Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver.
If that’s too heavy for you, there’s also the new fantasy series The Witcher, that’s been filling the void Game of Thrones left behind – and then some. Henry Cavill (of Superman fame), who plays the titular Witcher (a monster hunter) is surely reason enough to tune in.

If you’ve yet to catch Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite, you’re really missing out. Despite its sci-fi-y name, the parasite in question refers to two Korean families – one upper class and the other, bottom feeders of society. The latter installs themselves into the former’s luxurious home (literally) through ingenious means but the whole movie is really a shrewd commentary into class divides in Korean culture. Parasite is one of the strongest contenders for the Oscars in 2020 – and should it end up clinching the Best Picture award, it would be the first foreign-language movie in the 92-year history of the Academy Awards to do so.
