If you’re always on the lookout for new, hip bars to hang out at during the weekends, here’s one to put on your radar. Introduced by British gastropub Oxwell & Co, Apothecary is the latest hideaway to join Ann Siang Hill’s string of nightlife retreats. True to its name, the new enclave is themed as a hidden medieval pharmacy nestled on the third floor of a 4,000 square feet historic shophouse. Besides its concealed location, the decor will definitely leave an impression to all who patronise it, making it a standout from the other surrounding bars.
The walls are painted emerald green throughout and are filled with dark wood furniture, vintage medicine drawers and shelves lined with antique bottles containing house-made elixirs and vintage furnishings which pepper the entire space. What else to expect: there’s also a secret door connecting to an adjacent private dining room, which can hold up to 12 customers. Besides its one-of-a-kind interior, the drinks are another huge draw. Here, we break down our top three.
