5 Of The Best Places In Singapore To Get Your Poke Bowl Cravings Satisfied

by SOFIA KIM  /   June 19, 2017

If you’re still unaware of what a Poke Bowl is and you really want to check it out, here’s our quick, definitive guide. To put it simply, it is basically a traditional Hawaiian raw fish salad but over time, many eateries in Singapore have caught on and updated the trend, offering customisable bowls that are delicious yet healthy at the same time. Here, we introduce to you the best places in Singapore to satisfy (or well, at least try out if you have yet to) your Poke Bowl cravings.

5 Of The Best Places In Singapore To Get Your Poke Bowl Cravings Satisfied
#1: Sprout Salad Bar

Although widely known for their salads, the team behind Sprout Salad Bar are also pros when it comes to Poke Bowls. Quinoa is used as the base instead of rice for a healthier more nutritious take without comprising on the taste factor. Other favourites to check out? The Beef & Broccoli Bowl and Korean Chicken Bowl.

41 Duxton Road, 10am – 8:30pm (Mon – Fri), 11am – 7pm (Sat)

#2: Katto

Poke bowls with an Asian twist? We are sold. The folks here are best known for their interesting fish marinates such as Tangy Thai Tuna and Classic Shoyu Salmon. With a total of six sashimi flavours and vegetables and three different types of base (whether white or brown rice or even a salad) to choose from, you’ll definitely be spoilt for choice while customising your bowl. Oh, and did we mention, you can also opt for a half-half choice of base?

1 Fusionopolis Place, Galaxis Building (#01-21/2, 11am – 8pm (Mon – Fri), 11am – 2pm (Sat)

#3: Alter Ego

Unlike many other cafes which do customisable poke bowls, the folks at Alter Ego have a standard list of bowls to choose from. But they’re so good that you won’t hear us complaining. If you’re a fan of avocados, opt for Avacado Miso but if you like something spicier, there’s Spicy Mayo and Spicy Garlic Sesame to choose from.

8 Raffles Avenue, Esplanade Mall ( #01-13), 11am – 1am (Mon-Thu), 11am – 2am (Fri), 10am – 2am (Sat), 10am – 1am (Sun)

#4: Alakai

Alakai boasts a Santorini-inspired interior and is popular for its Korean-style marinade which is creamy, tangy and spicy all at once.

3 Everton Park, 11.30am to 2.30pm and 5.30pm to 8.30pm (Tues-Fri), 11.30am to 8.30pm (Sat)

#5: A Poke Theory

If you read our story on the best smoothie bowl spots in Singapore, then you’d probably be familiar with A Poke Theory. Start customising your bowl by choosing from three different bases (rice, quinoa and salad) followed by four different sashimi flavours (Shoyu Tuna, Spicy Garlic Sesame Tuna, Spicy Mayo Salmon or Avocado Miso Salmon). The best part? They come in sizes so if you’re just looking for something light to fill your tummy, the smaller size is perfect for you.

27 Boon Tat St, 8am – 6pm (Mon-Fri), 9am – 3am (Sat)

Like this? Check out the hottest cafes and restaurants to try this weekend, the best smoothie bowl spots in Singapore and the most awesome brunch places in Singapore we are digging.
