It helps to have home fragrances that don’t just smell good and are made of exotic ingredients, but look the part too. Here, three brands stocked at Robinsons department stores that are a treat for the senses.
The inspiration of this Belgian brand? Everything Africa, from the wildlife to the cultures found around the continent. Its approach to making its room sprays, candles and diffusers, meanwhile, is truly artisanal. Every candle is poured by hand into handblown glass containers, while every bottle is packed in a black box made by a craftsman in Belgium. The exotic ingredients it uses, such as santal vetiver, anise cedar and frangipani, are created in Grasse in southern France, the world’s capital of perfumery. $39-$470
Launched in 2014, the fragrance range by this Australian bedding specialist is made to calm the senses, and reimagines different summer settings. Think a day at the beach or picnic under an oak tree, which explains the crisp scents, such as the smell of cut grass, spearmint and fig. The fragrance range, which comprises room sprays, candles and diffusers, are created by a ninth-generation fragrance house in Britain, and come in pretty glass containers swathed in a filigree design. $49-$159
Like its popular macarons, the home fragrances by the French pastry brand is a mixed bag of everything sweet and nice. Its room sprays are packaged in vintage-style flacons with tassel spray atomisers. The candles come with scents as extensive as the macaron flavours in a Laduree pastry shop. Among them: Paeva & Caramel, Liquorice, Verbana Mint and Rice Powder. $39-$129
