Top Shopping Streets Around The World For Fashionistas
#1: 5th Avenue, New York
image

Not only is 5th Avenue home to some brilliant galleries, museums and restaurants but there’re also some rather incredible shopping too. Bergdorf Goodman, Gucci, Bulgari, Cartier, Kate Spade and Harry Winston are just a few of the brands to line the street surrounded by the stunning Bryant Park, and near the famous Rockefeller Center.

#2: Arts District, Los Angeles
image

Bordered by the Los Angeles River and within walking distance of Little Tokyo on the east side of Downtown LA, the Arts District is popular with young creatives and home to galleries, cool restaurants and bars, plus fashionable boutiques. Some of the offerings include Apolis (a ‘socially motivated lifestyle brand’ that specialises in men’s clothing and accessories), Poketo (which houses a collection of clothing, leather items and jewellery), plus Alchemy Works (great for Warby Parker glasses and beautiful designer duds).

#3: La Via Dell’Uomo, Milan
image

Comparable to Savile Row in London, La Via Dell’Uomo is the ultimate location for men’s shopping in Milan. Whether you’re after impeccable tailoring services or luxury clothing and accessories, it’s a man’s world on this Italian street. High-end lifestyle brands such as Acqua Di Parma, Cartier, and Brioni and Kiton are based here; with residences on the street, it stays alive and buzzing, even at night.

#4: Champs-Elysees, Paris

Making up part of the “Golden Triangle” of fashionable streets in the city, the Champs-Élysées offers ready-to-wear and haute couture in the two kilometres which stretch between the Arc de Triomphe and Place de la Concorde. Each Sunday, the avenue, which is also home to some of the city’s top museums, is reserved for cyclists and pedestrians visiting stores such as Banana Republic, Levi’s, Manoush, MAC, Hugo Boss, Guerlain, Hermès and Swarovski.

#5: Sloane Street, London
image

Located in the upscale Knightsbridge area, Sloane Street is home to almost every designer store you can imagine, including Chloe, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Prada and Chanel. Its impressive directory makes it the perfect place to shop pieces straight from the runways of the English capital city, plus Milan, New York and Paris. Fashion fiends stay at the street’s Jumeirah Carlton Tower and spend hours on end in department store Harvey Nichols when they’re not eyeing up the pretty window displays.

#6: New Cathedral Street, Manchester
image

New Cathedral Street is home to big brands including Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Reiss, Ted Baker, Burberry, 7 For All Mankind, Hugo Boss, Michael Kors, Jo Malone, Zara, Louis Vuitton and Ugg. It’s a pedestrianised street and runs between Exchange Square and Exchange Street in Manchester’s city centre. Find it opposite the popular Arndale Centre.

#7: Gertrude Street, Melbourne

Gertrude Street, in the gentrified neighbourhood of Fitzroy, Victoria, is one of the best streets in Melbourne for vintage and unusual items. You’ll find costume hire shops along the strip, in between art galleries, bookshops and old-school pubs. Choose from local and international designers at the likes of NOM*d Inc, Alice Edgeley, Megan Park, Melissa Jackson, and Smart Alec.

#8: CityWalk, Downtown Dubai
image

CityWalk in Downtown Dubai spans over 10 million square feet of entertainment, hospitality, and of course, shopping. It comprises more than 300 brands from around the world including Tory Burch, Ralph Lauren, Missoni, Coach and fashion cafe Antonio Marras. Guests can shop outdoors when the weather is cooler or opt to discover the area via the air-conditioned indoors.

#9: Lincoln Road, Miami
image

Extending from the Atlantic Ocean to the east and Biscayne Bay to the west on Miami Beach, Lincoln Road is an iconic pedestrian district that serves as a hub for modern culture-seekers. It has more than 200 designer boutiques and retail stores with flagships including Apple, GAP, J. Crew, T-Mobile and H&M, alongside luxury brands including Zadig et Voltaire, Alchemist, Osklen, Scotch & Soda, John Varvatos and Coltorti. An antique and collectibles market takes place each Sunday from Meridian to Michigan avenues.

#10: Rittenhouse Row, Philadelphia
image

Clothing and shoe purchases are tax-free in the city, situated between New York and Washington D.C., so it’s no wonder people love shopping on Rittenhouse Row. Visitors can enjoy upscale shopping at unique local boutiques and internationally recognised retailers including The Shops at Liberty Place (above), Boyds Philadelphia, Joan Shepp, Bloomingdales’ Outlet, Nordstrom Rack, Tumi, Armani Exchange, Tiffany & Co, Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie and many more.
