Local gourmet food and lifestyle brand The Providore has just opened its flagship outlet at Downtown Gallery, in the heart of the Shenton Way district. The latest outlet will feature new and different concepts such as a vibrant juice bar, fresh produce section and more, to add a fresh angle to The Providore brand. Below, we break down the various concepts that will surely entice you to visit this new hipster haven (and we mean this in the best way possible).
With a seating capacity of 100 seats, the cafe serves up delicious brunch and western fare that The Providore cafes are known for, including crowd favourites such as the Lobster Mac & Cheese, Grass-fed Beef Burger and Crab Linguine. For those working at the chic co-working space, this is the best spot to treat yourself to a wholesome meal.
The Deli features a curated range of cheeses and charcuterie sourced from Europe and Australia, as well as Singapore’s largest walk-in cheese room. Customers will be spoilt for choice at the variety of different cheeses available and are able to browse, taste and customise their perfect cheese board. The best part? You can even order all deli items for either dine-in or takeaway – what’s not to love?
This takeaway counter will feature delicious salads, fresh sandwiches, soups, cold-pressed juices and smoothies that are perfect for busy workers on-the-go. There will also be a fresh station serving up hot foods such as pides (Turkish pizza) and platters from morning until evening. If you’re in need of a cuppa or some fresh juice, Fresh & Go also serves great-tasting coffee and freshly made slow-pressed juices.
The Providore’s artisanal bread range will be baked fresh daily here at its flagship store before being sent out to its other outlets. What this means? You’ll not only get fresh bread but also an extensive selection of gourmet options to choose from. The outlet will also feature an all-new patisserie counter filled with fresh mousse cakes, pastries, ice cream and other confectionary items – your afternoon snack, sorted.
From wines to artisanal spirits and even craft beers, this special room is dedicated to all types of alcohol. The folks have also teamed up with Proof & Company (the team behind 28 HongKong Street) to provide Gin and Tonic masterclasses, as well as other artisanal spirit discovery and mixology classes to patrons.
Besides fresh food and grocery items, the Grocery will also stock up on homeware and lifestyle products. Another exciting addition to look forward to is the fresh produce section featuring organic fruit and vegetables imported directly from Japan, as well as coffee and tea tasting stations showcasing The Providore’s very own range of blends.
The Cooking Studio is a first of its kind for the company and is fully equipped with kitchen materials to provide a fun environment for classes, corporate bonding activities and themed parties. Showcasing a wide range of cuisine types and classes, the classes are developed to inspire and impart students with skills and recipes they can recreate at home.
