ZoukOut 2016: Underrated Music Acts You Need To Catch

ZoukOut’s sweet 16 pampers us with yet another sensational line up packed with 14 acts ranging from mainstream progressive house to underground indie electronics. Amongst these huge names are acts who have not yet made it big in the industry and are still under the radar. We have selected three who definitely deserve more attention.

Annual dance festival ZoukOut is back this year (Dec 10-11) with yet another sensational line-up. A total of 14 acts, ranging from progressive house to indie electronics, will perform throughout the two-day beach party. While names like Hardwell and Zedd are instantly recognisable, we highlight the acts you shouldn’t miss out on and why you should turn up for their sets:

ZoukOut 2016: Underrated Music Acts You Need To Catch
#1: RAC

Portuguese DJ RAC (otherwise known as André Allen Anjos) has produced groovy remixes of tracks by Lady Gaga, Kings Of Leon and Foster The People, and also played at Coachella last year. He repels standard club remixes and gravitates towards his own sound, a mix of mellow vocals with feel-good indie electronica beats.

#2: Fritz Kalkbrenner

The German DJ and producer has been following the footsteps of his brother, Paul, and has been inching his way into the music industry. Contrary to his brother, his music is warm and heavily influenced by deep electro beats as well as his soulful vocals. Expect to be 100 per cent chilled out during his set.

#3: TIGA

The French-Canadian DJ and record producer is the man behind the insanely catchy electro version of Nelly’s “Hot In Herre”, and has influenced the ’90s dance scene in many other ways with his experimental mixes. He’s best known for his pulsing techno beats, so be sure to keep your dancing shoes on all night long. $128 to $138 for advanced tickets or $148 to $158 for event-day tickets, buy them here.
