If there are two things we cannot live without at Uniqlo, it will be affordable basics and Heattech. And maybe those cute Mickey Mouse tees and sweatshirts they roll out. But another reason why we really love the Japanese fast fashion retailer: it is a hothouse of great fashion collaborations.
Especially so, if French style rocks your boat. Ines de La Fressange, Carine Roitfeld and Lemaire are just three names this season which have teamed up with the retailer. Lemaire, which launch its designs last fall at Uniqlo, will release its final collection for spring/summer ’16 on March 4.
Available only at 313@Somerset, Bugis+, Ion Orchard, Jem and Suntec City stores, the 71-piece outing for men and women is a great steal ($29.90-$249.90) for die-hard Lemaire fans. The calming, unfussy, stark designs, include wrap dresses, tent-shaped coats and parkas, loose-fitting tunic dresses and ribbed knits. Done in summery fabrics like Supima cotton, cashmere-blend and seersucker, the designs are a distilled rendition of the pieces which Lemaire’s design duo Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Linh Tran.
