These Are The Standout Accessory Trends From The Pre-Fall 2018 Collections

#1: Logo Belts
image

All eyes are on the midsection this season with an emphasis on statement, logo belts that are worn with just about anything – over dresses and outerwear, with pants and skirts. Both Sonia Rykiel and Altuzarra presented thick, black belts with the brand name outlined in metal studs. For something a little less overwhelming, Gucci and Emporio Armani have slimmer versions that will add a touch of elegance to any look.

#2: Kitten Heels
image

Kitten heels made a stunning comeback (we couldn’t believe it either) a few seasons ago, and it hasn’t gone anywhere since then (good news for our feet too). Combining the sophistication of high heels with the comfort of flats, kitten heels are the go-to shoes to bring you from day-to-night. No wonder designers are obsessed with this style – Monse’s pointed mule versions are particularly easy to wear yet still very classy.

#3: Tote Bags
image

Here’s another win for practicality – instead of toting around small clutches and purses that can barely contain anything more than our keys and phone, Pre-Fall 2018 saw many iterations of large tote bags that models’ carried around casually. Our favourites are probably the logo embossed ones that were spotted at labels such as Valentino, Christian Dior, Chanel and Gucci.

#4: Oversized Scarves
image

This trend might not be all that suited for our hot and humid weather, but it can definitely come in handy when travelling to colder countries (or simply in freezing offices). When we say oversized, we are talking about seriously huge – think almost blanket-like proportions. Match with a sharp pantsuit like at Victoria Beckham, or wear it like a cape a la MSGM.

#5: Baseball Caps
image

It’s time to pack away those sailor hats, military caps and fedoras, because the It hat to be seen in this season is none other than the classic baseball cap. We aren’t just talking about any other old baseball cap you can get at a random gas station, but elevated versions that come with branded logos (i.e. Gucci) or modern metal embellishments (i.e. Versace).
